The on site manager is a miserable person who should put more effort into caring for the dilapidated property than she does getting involved in guests comings and goings. I Checked in to my room with my son (18) and two Nephews (17 & 18) and was threatened my kids would be thrown in the “seaside slammer” if I left them alone at the property. She then ordered me to check in at the front desk every morning by 9am or she would call the cops, which I agreed to because after making a 3 hour ride what are you going to do let’s get comfortable and enjoy our vacation time right? wrong. We then took our scolded behinds up to our Deluxe poolside room with balcony that only cost $237 a night (right around the cost of a two bedroom air b&b by the way). This dump of a room (now my jail cell) was disgusting it smells like a wet basement, the floor is some how sticky and slippery at the same time, the walls have peeling paint, holes and scratches the furniture is old, scratched and moisture damaged. The balcony has a water puddle from the ac dripping on it, peeling and chipped paint on the railing, and cheap lawn furniture that could barely support a full grown teenager. The bathroom some how was damper than the rest of the room even with the exhaust fan on that sounds like a diesel truck running. Again this section of the room features peeling paint, even on the bathtub?! to go along with the holes in the walls, and did I mention the sink is in not in the bathroom but in the foyer talk about deluxe accommodations!!!! Between the disrepair of the property and lack of customer service from the Crypt keeper at the front desk I had to immediately check out before my luggage picked up mold spores from the moist air in the room or my kids got lead poisoning from peeling paint.

Simple hotel with a pool, connected to a bar on the boardwalk. Rooms are clean, bug free which is my main concern. Never had any problems staying here, and somehow always get the front room that looks out over the boardwalk and beach. My kids love going here and look forward to our summer trip every year. Aztec is just about at the middle of the active area of town, just at the north end of the Casino Pier. Its easy to sit on the balcony outside the room and watch the kids in the pool, or go down and join them. Can keep an eye on them from the room or down pool side. A lot about Seaside has changed over the years as I have been going there since a child in the 80s, specially since MTV Shore Summer in the 90s, and later the show Jersey Shore has attracted a lot less families to stay in Seaside, and younger generation trying to revert it to the party town they are trying to get away from. Local authorities have been doing their best to create and enforce stiffer regulations and crack down on all the nonsense. Its a summer beach town tho with 75% of the officers being untrained seasonal rent-a-cops, so theyre hoping an increased physical presence in uniformed officers along with other measures will restore the town to its once family friendly desired destination. My main complaint and reason I rated the rooms and service as only 3 is because of the pillows they provide. Pillows are paper thin and provide no comfort or support. Even after going down to the desk and demanding 2 extra pillows, I just couldn't find a way to make them comfortable at all. Highly recommend to bring your own pillow or suffer!

The day we checked in, 8/6/2020, we found the sink leaking. Management came up to fix it. About an hour later we discovered the toilet was continuously running. We were told someone would be up the following day to fix it. Next we discovered plugs just fell out of an outlet and the tv didn’t work. The male that came to check on things said since we were having so many issues they could offer us another room. Upon checking, he discovered there was no other room. Till he came back to tell us there was no other room, we discovered what we thought was dirt falling on the bed. We told him about that too and asked for a credit since they couldn’t move us. Next day we discovered the coffee maker didn’t work. We told a man cleaning rooms about it and he brought another one. When he came back we told him about the “dirt” falling on the bed as more was discovered that morning. He told us it was insulation coming through from the roof. Great! So guests are expected to breath in insulation as they sleep! No one ever showed up on this day to fix the toilet, address the bad outlet, or address the falling insulation. The next day as we were checking out we asked about the credit. When asked why, we told all the problems we had since check in. A woman went in the back to make a call. While she was on the phone, the other woman working told us if we had that many problems from the start we should have gone to another hotel. Yes, a hotel employee actually said that. After they had us pay for our stay up front! So instead of them fixing things we should be out that money and pay for another hotel? The woman said we “would probably get a refund” if we went to another hotel. Probably? Now the woman came back from the phone call and said they could give us $100 credit. Ok. Great! Thank you. Only they couldn’t process it at that time because “the computers were down”. We were told they would process the credit as soon as the computers came back up. Well, two and a half weeks later they still have not processed the credit. I called the hotel 2 days ago. Had to tell the whole story again. Linda told me their “computers were down” and Maryann would have to call me back but she was out until today 8/25/202. Here’s a surprise. Maryann never called back! I called the hotel again and Linda said Maryann was gone for the day. When I said we would be leaving reviews revealing what the hotel is like, Linda offered the name of someone higher than Maryann. Linda gave this person’s direct number. Only problem is she gave me the same number I dialed 2 days ago! Instead, a call needs to placed to OSHA and NJ health department. I bet they would be more willing to return a call being we were breathing in insulation during our stay. If I could rate this hotel with a negative number I would. Pass...

Stayed here last weekend, August 25th-27th.

Disgusting! If negative stars were available, it would still be over-rated!!

We were charged in advance for a Poolside Room for 2 nights at $202 + tax, per night = $460.00!! The room that we got was a Streetside room advertised at $182 + tax per night. We went down to reception to tell them that this was not the room we had reserved WELL IN ADVANCE and were told there were no other rooms available to move us to until Saturday. Room was very dirty with badly stained chair/sofa bed and an stale cigarette smell. We stayed reluctantly as there are NO REFUNDS! Before being moved to a better, somewhat remodeled room, I took a shower in 1st room and when I turned to grab towel to dry off, saw a pubic hair literally stuck to the wall!! Once I noticed it, realized there were at least 3 others in various places scattered and stuck on tiles! UNACCEPTABLE!! The 2nd room was a bit better in that it was cleaner and portions had been remodeled, however, a drunk male was pounding on our door after midnight trying to get in. We yelled wrong room but the banging continued. Called the front desk and were told that someone would be right up but no one ever showed to handle situation. The chaos right outside our room door continued with others being woken by the commotion. People asking each other, "is he ok" and carrying on full conversations where they stood for what seemed like hours. When the drunk man finally got to his feet again, he vomited over the balcony landing poolside! My husband was unable to sleep all night as he was understandably extremely annoyed that no one from front desk ever came. When we checked out on Sunday, we expressed our total dissatisfaction with this very poorly run, way overpriced establishment and I followed up with a phone call in attempt to get some compensation/refunded the difference between Streetside and Poolside rooms, only to be told that the 2nd room we were moved to was a higher priced room and that we got a break on that!! Also, when I mentioned the FACT that we were told that they'd send someone up to deal with the drunk guy, the response was, "You should have kept calling the front desk." "Sometimes they get busy and forget!" REALLY???? at 1:00 a.m. there are other pressing things to do that are more important than your guests comfort, not to mention SAFETY!!! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Location is ONLY decent thing about this place and restaurant on top is NOT affiliated with motel. Food was good as was service. They are moving out and opening further up the boardwalk. The original restaurant apparently burned down in a fire and they relocated atop this NASTY AZTEC MOTEL!!

Check Better Business Bureau also, as I wish we had!! You can bet I'll be...

Worst customer service and unreal cancellation policy at this motel! As I wrote on Google Maps, I wanted to write here too. I originally booked a stay for my parents anniversary for Saturday 7/16-Sunday 7/17 over the phone for $339 for 1 night for a boardwalk view, room 301. (Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me!) ||The front desk guy (who was working there not even a week he told me) was very nice but never mentioned that there was a 2 night minimum on weekends, even a Friday to Saturday has a 2 night min, but he let me book for 1 night- Saturday to Sunday anyways. Come to find out that it was actually booked for Friday to Saturday instead and never got an email confirmation like I was supposed to but got a surprise phone call at 10pm Friday asking if I was still coming, and then telling me to speak to the manager in the morning to reschedule. ||Mary Anne the so called manager is so rude, very unprofessional, and unreasonable, and very argumentative with customers! I have seen many reviews about her right here on Trip Advisor and they are absolutely right about the way she treats her guests, and the way she is so uncaring even if you have a dire emergency to cancel the stay she won’t budge.... she has an actual nerve to be charging us full price of $339 and saying we can’t get our deposit back if we cancel, and then making a nasty comment, “well I don’t know what else to tell ya” and then after her arguing with me back and forth for about 20 minutes over the phone, she finally budged and gave us a 1 night stay 7/30-7/31, supposedly the same room 301. ||So unfortunately I had to reschedule for the 30th to the 31st because I still want my parents to have a great anniversary regardless of the motel, and if this motel gives me any other unknown charges on my card, I am going to dispute it with the bank! I’m not giving them any more money, heck they don’t even deserve $100! I will update my review after my parents stay there. But the way she treated me and my parents over the phone and setting off cold hearted vibes and the many 1 star reviews I have read, I don’t know if this stay is going to be worthwhile, and I knew I should have read reviews...
