UPDATE: They now have blinds! Love the cooler (and privacy) feel of the gym. Thank you, Anytime Fitness Northgate team!
Original Review: I’m one of the founding members and have really been enjoying this gym since it opened. While I didn’t expect it to be on the smaller side like other Anytime Fitness—especially at the heart of Northgate area where it’s so busy, I actually like the cozy feel — and the fact that all the equipment is brand new is a huge plus too. You’re not getting worn-out or secondhand gear like you might at some bigger commercial gyms or even places like Alphalete in Texas.
I also really appreciate that it’s truly 24 hours. I’ve been to a few Anytime Fitness back in the day in different states, and not all of them actually stick to 24/7 access. So props to the team here for staying true to that — especially ironic considering there’s a “24 Hour Fitness” nearby them that isn’t even open 24 Hours anymore.
One area for improvement — and the reason for my 4-star rating for now — is the temperature control. With warmer weather hitting the Seattle area lately, the gym has been getting really hot, especially in the afternoons. The big windows are awesome for natural light, but they also let in a ton of heat and glare. It’s gotten to the point where it feels like I’m walking into an open-air CrossFit gym in L.A. I know there’s an A/C system in place, but I’d love for the team to set a consistent, cooler temps during the summer months — especially for those of us doing cardio or high-intensity workouts. Sweat is nice, but heat exhaustion isn’t.
It would also help to install blinds or reflective window film to reduce the glare and heat. I get that sunny days aren’t super common here in the PNW, but having something in place to manage the sunlight would make a big difference in overall comfort.
Still, loving the vibe, the staff, the members who come here, and I’m excited to keep...
Read moreSuch a nice gym, I wish I had joined earlier. It is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. I initially hesitated because I was not sure it would have all the equipment I wanted, but after a tour from the manager I saw it had everything I personally need. I switched from a big gym that is 1 block away. Benefits of this gym compared to a big gym: everything is new and clean High-quality machines with cams and seat adjustments that allow for an excellent resistance profile and a good stretch at the starting position. Whoever selected the machines really knows weightlifting and hypertrophy. Every machine is awesome. There is no space wasted with sub-par machines. extremely clean bathrooms not crowded. ~10 people there in early morning rush, reduces to 2-3 people by late morning and mid-day. nothing is broken, damaged, or worn clean parking lot Strong air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep you cool in the summer bike rack inside the entryway to keep...
Read moreGreat gym! Clean and brand new equipments. Cool staff. It’s so peaceful at night, even at “rush hour” times like 5pm - 7pm. Love that it’s not packed especially at 8:30pm and onwards, though I don’t want to jinx it. Easy parking (though sometimes I just walk from my place), and I love the fact that I can access a plethora of other locations; there are so many in Washington! I’ve been a 24-hour fitness member for many years, but it’s gotten so packed and so many places have closed down after the pandemic, plus I needed something that’s more accessible outside of the USA. Can’t wait to check out access to international locations and what other Anytime Fitness in other...
