BOLLYWOOD RAVE REVIEW DJ/Music: the DJ was low key ATROCIOUS. There was so much potential, but none of the transitions were smooth. He would pick songs and build up to something where you could really jam and dance to, but then drop the slowest beat you've ever heard from a different song? I didn't know every song, but it seems like he played a mix that most people knew at least. But definitely not rave material. And this went on the whole night. Other raves I've been to, the DJ had good control of a lighting scene, but there was none here :( I miss rave LEDs and the whole light show :( No fog either. Drinks: I paid 25 bucks and there were barely any people there.... I didn't get anything bc it felt like I already paid too much for this experience. An appropriate ticket would have been 10 bucks max so I could get a drink. Gender ratio: good balance. Minimal creepy guys. Security was great. Photographers: ok low-key this was bothering me the whole night. There was a GIANT video camera pointed at the dance floor the whole time, and a photographer going around. At least the photographer was a woman, but it still made me try to avoid my face being in photos the whole night. Very uncomfortable experience. Vibe: Extremely mid. There was like one other group who had close to rave like outfits. I mixed up a saree blouse/shorts, glitter and rave makeup. There were tons of cocktail dress types and sweaters being worn. You do you, but it brought down the rave vibe (which wasn't there in the first place with...
Read moreWell, we really tried to go to this club... We got to the address listed on Google and the website at 10pm on Saturday night, July 1. The building was vacant and had a sign on it saying that the lounge had permanently moved to a different location, opening date July 1, which could be found on their Instagram and Facebook. It was not listed on their Instagram but we found an address on Facebook. Upon arriving there to that address, there was no chapel lounge, just a bunch of vacant buildings and a few other bars. No signage, people, nothing. We then called the phone number, around midnight so during business hours, and no one picked up. I'm not sure how we are supposed to go to a club that doesn't exist, but from the confusing social media posts, misleading location directions and lack of anyone answering the phone it really didn't feel like they wanted...
Read moreLayout is atrocious- huge bench chairs line the sides of the dance floor, and the stage and bathroom is right when you walk in, so maneuvering is impossible. There is a long bar top about 2 feet from the bar, so trying to get a (rather expensive) drink is also almost impossible. I have never had a less comfortable time as people tried to just exist and dance without bumping into one another. Having the bar and bathroom in such awkward spots, while having huge chairs where the walkway should be, meant people were constantly moving. Couldn't stay still or get comfortable at any point, and i watched multiple bartenders spill drinks trying to get through the impossible maze. Would be 110% better if they moved the chairs off the dance floor and into the back, and a roped off walkway to...
