I like this place! It's a good way to treat yourself if you're on a budget. I don't think it deserves the sc@m claims it's gotten; just make sure your phone doesn't sort their texts as spam so you can get the door code. If you have social anxiety or hate talking to receptionists, this system works great!
The space is kinda funky with the kitchenette common area, but it gets the job done. Bathroom has some fancy things and hair ties, plus a little drink station. Little things that make it feel more fancy.
The saunas are nice, but different from traditional steamed saunas. I think they are good for relaxing muscles, calming sensory overstimulation, and anxiety regulation. Also good if you want to feel like you've just exercised (in a good way!) but don't feel like actually moving.
I think privacy in the booths could be improved, ie: adding weather stripping to doors to fit flush with the floor, adding fabric or other privacy screening over the open ceilings of the booth, etc. Also, the HVAC system is a little loud, which may kill your vibe at times.
Is it worth $30? Idk. But! They often send out "daily deal" emails with discounts on appointments, which can make it cheaper than buying takeout. If you need a little time away from kids, annoying roommates, or a computer screen, I think this is a good solution for cheaper than other...
Read moreI love everything about this place! I've visited Sauna Hut over a dozen times now for the sauna sessions and find myself re-buying packages. The business model is extremely unique - no human interaction required, extremely affordable, and very flexible hours.
I've never had trouble booking online through Vagaro. I booked a room for the sauna online and was texted a code before my first session to let myself in and out of the building. I do my thing in the sauna room and leave when I'm done. Many times I get in and out without seeing or talking to anyone!
The place itself is a nice environment. Thoughtful touches throughout the place like towels, water, magazines and even face wash in the bathroom. Some of the cleanliness in the sauna is based on the honor system (people are supposed to clean up after themselves with provided disinfectant and cleaner) but there's never been a...
Read moreSH peeps, please open a San Diego location!! I’m obsessed with this place now and we have nothing like it down by me :( I was visiting friends up in Seattle and one of them kept telling me about this awesome sauna place by their house in Ballard. I was definitely curious and she told me she had wanted to check out the green lake one next so we booked online and it was the easiest thing ever. Super chill, self service type of thing and the space was really clean and relaxing. The vibe was so what I needed in general and WOW with the sauna experience. I’ve only done the weird gym sauna’s before and didn’t really know much about the infrared (sp?) but I felt awesome afterwards. I REALLY need something like this with my stressful job so I can just check out, detox and relax for an hour. Not big on leaving reviews but yeah, I’m super excited after...
