The team is great at what they do, but the experience is something you have to try to see if you’ll love it or hate it.

When I booked my appointment, I was looking for a capsule wardrobe and wanted to discover more brands. I wrote a pretty lengthy intake e-mail, and to Darcy’s credit she was incredibly attentive, responsive, and understanding of what I was looking for.

During my session, I didn’t really love the fit of the items they found for me. But I wanted to keep an open mind and give things a fair shot. So I walked away with a very functional and comprehensive capsule that I wanted. Most items are from Nordstrom or Rack.

In the end, I hated some of the items and have donated some. I think their style is definitely more experimental, so they’re trying to get you to explore different aspects of style so you can grow rather than help you perfect what you already like. A lot of the outfits they pick for you will “work” but just because they work doesn’t actually mean you’ll like them. During the session, it’s actually hard to tell if you personally dislike something or if the outfit presented is just new (not what you’re used to wearing) because all the outfits will work in terms of function and style.

I don’t regret the experience just because it’s what I needed to find out ‘oh I definitely don’t like this,’ but I wouldn’t do it again. Also, while there isn’t pressure to buy anything because they don’t make commission like at a department store. It still feels awkward to not say yes to some of the pieces when you’re in the session because the whole point was to walk away with a wardrobe. Keep that in mind.

The biggest strength from the wardrobe they helped me build is versatility - my shopping habits completely changed after my experience and I waste a lot less money now because I only buy things that work with what I have or don’t require me to buy too many new pieces.

ROUGH START TO AMAZING FINISH! My husband purchased a Style session gift certificate for me for my birthday this year (best hubby ever!). I scheduled my initial meeting with Styled Seattle, and when i showed up for it a few weeks later no one was there! There had been a miscommunication between their team members on who was to meet with me. I was not very happy about being stood up...I emailed Darcy, the company owner, to let her know what happened and that I was pretty disappointed. In my mind I had decided that, depending on how they responded to this mishap, I would either ask for a refund of the gift certificate my hubby got, or they could try and make it up to me...Darcy's response blew my mind (in a good way!!). She took the time to sincerely apologize for the mishap, had compassion for how i was feeling, and she didn't try to make excuses or explain away what happened. She also didn't throw her employees under the bus, she uplifted them and talked about their amazing qualities, and she offered me options for how I would like to proceed. One of them being an upgrade to an in-home session and wardrobe evaluation. I happily accepted that offer, and had an amazing experience with her stylist Olga. I was treated with the utmost respect, and had a wonderfully fun time with Olga! This style experience changed my life! I feel like a new woman with my new style! i learned so much from Olga, and I feel more confident with how i dress. All in all i am massively impressed with this company! i know what it is like to run a business and have mishaps happen, and i am a firm believer that it's what you do AFTER a mishap that matters most.
