My mom and I just left the store today and I can't believe what just happened. We are colored women and we wanted to browse around. Immediately, someone greets us. Perfectly fine except for the fact that the 3 women who work there kept their eyes on us the whole time. The manager Immediately stood by the door when we walked on and kept eyeing us. The roamer kept following around (mind you it's a small shop it's pretty obvious and extremely uncomfortable) the cashier didn't do so much but kept looking. Right when my mom and I was heading towards the door the manager Immediately left and went to the desk. I had told my mom what just happened and she back there saying if you don't want color people in the shop then put a sign up. I've always felt uncomfortable going into that shop. The way I dress or look shouldn't be an assumption on how much money I have because believe me thankfully they didn't say anything back other than one employee saying "sorry" because not only can I afford a pair of earrings, I can definitely afford a lawsuit. I have always enjoyed purchasing from this store. I don’t come to U-Village often, but when I do, I make sure to stop here. Today I spent 20 minutes (YES it was 20 minutes because I was waiting for another store to open) browsing. Not a single greeting or acknowledgement in the slightest. There was ONE other customer in the store. Two employees. I saw at least 4 beautiful pieces that I wanted to take a closer look at. But how would they know, I was essentially invisible to the both of them. I have done my fair share of retail & customer service—I have never felt so unwanted & unwelcome in a store. Do not buy from them, all their products they claim is "sterling silver" is not, I wasted so much money on their products that now smell gross because they were actually made of some other metal. I had to trash everything I bought from them. Complete scammers. They have the audacity to tamper with and peel off the barcode/tag off of my jewelry that I purchase, and I realized that after my third visit here purchasing again several products. I feel disgusted by their behavior, I don't need to return items that I buy, but them doing this is a complete mockery.
