I will never spend my money in this place again. On July 3rd. I bought 6 packs of hamburger meat. By July 7th the hamburger meat was not even pink after being frozen. I called and asked them what they can do to fix this problem and they told me I could bring it back and exchange it. When I got back the first gentleman was understanding and asked me "what did I want, the money?". I responded I just wanted the same meat amount of meat that I just purchased. When we go to the back that gentleman told me to grab 4 packs of meat and we were even. I told him I would appreciate it if I could just get the same packs (lbs and price) that I had. He told me that the meat was $2.48 lb now however, when I purchased them they were $2.28 lb. So I explained I would just like what I paid for. He fixes them but my packs were $6.23-$6.73 2.14-2.48 lb per pack and I had 5 packs. He came out with 4 packs one of the packs had $2.99 per pound and others were $2.49 per pound. The amount to meat and the price of the meats certainly did not add up so I spoke up and he told me to "just go and just leave". I would have never been talked to this way by the old owners and workers. So therefore them ripping me off and disrespecting me this was has just made a loyal customer decide to take her business else where. Other people had been telling me they sell spoiled food but now I have the proof. I would rather drive 25 miles to get fresh, quality, and reasonably priced food than to deal with...
Read moreI think the meat inspectors finally went through this place because it seems like their meat is fresher now, but I just don’t know 100%. That’s why it’s three star so far. There were times I went through there and they had double stickers on their meat and if you look at the sticker underneath, it expired 10 days sooner than that sticker they had on top and the price was higher on the underneath sticker, and the price was lower on the top sticker. And when I went three days ago, everything expired within like 10 days maximum, and I remember before their meats would be dated like a month out. I will update my review when I go again they may eventually get a five star aside from the The green tortilla shells that I got that were actually supposed to be yellow but when you open the pack, there was a whole dust cloud of green that came out. I’m just not sure right now. But will update when I go next time. UPDATE I've been back a second time, and the meat seems to be good and no foul smell.3rd and 4th time meat was ok. 5th time yesterday I went my meat smells like it was thick and didn’t sell and they cut it up thinner and re-packaged it. My review is going to go back down to a idk what to think...
Read moreAs long as I've been alive there has been a Selma IGA. The first owner Joe Moore was just an absolutely amazing guy. And I am so embarrassed to say that I don't know the new owners name, but he is just as terrific of guy as Joe was. When ever I go in and he's there he greets me with a great big smile, a handshake or a fistbump, and always asks me how I doing. The day-to-day manager John is stalwart at IGA. He's worked there since her was a kid and knows the store inside-out. All the girls that run the registers are friendly and never rude or out the way to customers from what I've see. They're always friendly and finally the Store itself is impeccable. The new owner has remodeled the front registers and the produce section and it looks amazing. And even though the store isn't very big the owner has managed to add a sort of butcher's counter with a few select cuts of meat that are different...
