I’m an avid antique seeking junkie! I travel a lot to find the best local antique stores in certain areas, state to state. I stumbled upon The Southern Bostonian and I honestly have to say I wasn’t very impressed. I was greeted with a warm welcome, that was definitely nice! Superior customer service. The downside; price tag doesn’t match up to what the item is worth. Overly priced for not really “antique” items,I’d say I felt more like it was a thrift store find and they slapped a 50$ price tag on it.Not to say that I didn’t see anything that wasn’t vintage, there were a few pieces scattered here and there but I felt like I was more in a thrift store type environment vs. antique/vintage and I was extremely bummed as I was super excited to check this place out after hearing all the hype about it. The set up was nice all in all but in my personal opinion as someone who knows their antiques there’s not much to ooh and ah over here worth the price tag. Ex. Read moreI went to The Southern Bostonian today to attend their Easter Bunny Celebration ... I had only been before to attend a door hanger workshop and had a great time! Not sure what to expect because of some 'running mouth's'... (That's one reason I like going for myself!!) And let me tell y'all something!!!! Kristina has it going on!!! That place is absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere is so inviting and friendly and there's a bowl of water at the front door for your puppers!!! The music had me bouncing around and the staff was so welcoming... Everything in there was just gorgeous!! They welcome anyone no matter who you are... I highly recommend making the trip to Selma to see all of the wonderful things inside... Even took me back in time a...
Read morePictures don't do this place justice, it is GORGEOUS. Plus it smells amazing. The items and drcor are a nice blend of old and new, vintage and modern. It is seriously one of the most well decorated antique shops I've been to (I can only think of one other!). If I didn't live so far away I'd totally take my teen friends here, because they'd love the aesthetic, and my mom would definitely bring her friends because they like antiquing. Hope I can visit again soon, but I'd buy the whole...
