LONG BUT PLEASE READ IF TOU ARE ON THE FENCE I got my car diagnosed at a local shop. It needed a catalytic converter. I haven’t used Glenns Muffler shop in quite a few years and the chatter around town was that his son had taken over and was not doing a very good job and was rude to say the least…
My car has high miles so I purchased a cheap catalytic converter because my car simply isn’t worth putting something fancy in. I then took it down to Glenn’s for installation anyways as they are the closest exhaust shop to me. Tommy’s son, Parker, was running the desk. He was so absolutely polite to me and did not make me feel any sort of way. This is huge for women who walk into garages. When I came to pick my car back up, they only charged me for the 30 minutes it took them to install instead of a shop minimum. Again, very impressive to me. As I pulled out, I noticed a sound, and before I was able to turn around and take it back to them, saw smoke and smelled a burning smell and pulled over immediately. When I called the shop up, they were so kind, and Jeff hopped in his car and drove over to me a few minutes away on the side of the road to check my car out. Again, impressed. After thoroughly checking everything out, we were able to come to the conclusion that the smoke and smell was from the cheap part I had bought having paint on it and it was burning off. He took my number and told me he would call me when he made it back to the shop to look at his schedule to see when I could bring it back into him so he could thoroughly check his work to see why it was making the sound. He did not forget to call me to set up the appointment for the next day. Again, impressed. When I showed up the next day, again him and Parker were so polite. He thoroughly checked his work and even had a 30 minute conversation on the phone with my father who lives out of state and is a very good mechanic. The conclusion is the part is the problem, agreed-upon by my father. The whistling sound is probably a defect, but everything is working as it should and mechanically speaking is fine. We understand you win some you lose some when it comes to cheap parts and it’s warranteed if the sound gets worse. I offered to pay them for their time as I was there for over an hour. They refused payment. I even tried to tip Jeff for going so far out of his way, especially the day before on the side of the road. He refused the tip and said that’s what we are here for. Not to mention, he was very kind and patient with my rambunctious children while we were waiting in the office. So freaking impressed. I am extremely happy and grateful with the service I received and when this cheap part goes, I will definitely be bringing my car back for another repair! Please don’t believe everything you hear. Parker, you are doing an amazing job and your father would be proud! Don’t ever get rid of Jeff! And I will be correcting anyone who says different from...
Read moreWhat a great place! I needed some work done on my old Tacoma. I stopped here because I was in Seneca on other business and wasn’t in the truck needing repair. I did have a picture on my phone of the rusted flange that needed replacement that I showed to the friendly employee that came out of the garage to meet me. He analyzed the picture and said they could quickly and easily take care of the problem. He invited me to make an appointment and they had time the same afternoon. I arrived early and they quickly got my truck up on their lift. They invited me to look over the exhaust system which needed more than a flange replacement. Mr. Glenn offered a very reasonable estimate for the work and said they could take care of it right away. They replaced my exhaust system in about an hour. The work was done carefully and with quality workmanship. Mr. Glenn and his employee know their trade and do what they say they will do. There are many auto repair businesses including most dealerships that could learn from Mr. Glenn about how to run a good business that is customer focused, efficient and interested in delivering the best product for...
Read moreVery fast and professional service at a very reasonable price, I would even say cheap price. This is my experience with this shop: previous owner of my Jeep decided that it is a great idea to install smaller than stock catback system on a Hemi engine making it loud as hell and I needed exhaust that can handle mild upgrades to the engine so small catback that was installed had to go. Within a minute (60 seconds, probably even less) after stepping into the office I was able to explain what I had and what I wanted to be done with my Jeep. Two minutes later I already had an estimate for the replacement of the entire catback system that would match my needs and this two minutes include the time that was needed to inspect my current exhaust. As promised just after lunch I received a call inviting me back to pick up my Jeep. Now I have exhaust that is big enough to accommodate future upgrades and is looking and sounding just like I wanted. And the important part is the price of my upgrade was surprisingly low. All welds look professional and there are no leaks in my new exhaust. Great work. Thank you. Highly recommended for any...
