DO NOT BOWL HERE!!! Bowl anywhere other than here, I don’t care if it’s in a basement in Detroit and you get robbed in the process, it will be far better experience than any you will have here. Staff is rude and apathetic, they get tour money and then act like it’s too much to ask for what you paid for, broken down lanes, angry customer lined up inside, understaffed with no one to tend bar, and what little staff they do have looks like they are waiting for carnival season to start back up. I would be happy to pay their prices if they made good on their end but they don’t. Charging by the hour with no notice, no timer and no grace when your game shuts down in the middle of the 9th frame. I simply asked to finish our game and was told they would gladly give us 30 min, but we would have to pay for it, forget the fact that the game we were 90% through was erased at this point and they are just looking to get more money. Vickie the manger tells my wife that I have a big mouth for being upset and protesting their business practices, then wants to exchange info in the parking lot. You had your shot to make it right, my kids and family had their day ruined because your business practices obviously show that the dollar is far more important than the experience and for that they will remember that Shelby Lanes is not a good place to go and I truly hope the rest of the community that has supported you goes elsewhere. DO NOT...

I've bowled at this alley on and off for 30 years, it used to be a good place to bowl, but I'll never go back. They don't oil their lanes on the weekends but still see fit to charge upper level prices. They seem to cater to kids now rather than adults, fine if you have kids but if you actually just want to go and practice bowling on the weekends despite the fact that they don't oil their lanes, be warned that they offer things such as free bowling for kids and they cater to birthday parties so you can fully expect that there will be kids running around without supervision, stepping into your lane, running up and down the lanes, etc and management doesn't stop them and most of the time their parents just don't care to parent. The pro shop - I was happy to see that they got a pro shop in recent years and bought a couple balls and had them drilled there and later had them re-drilled with new layouts, just about every time I went to pick up my ball something was not as I had ordered it and they ended up having to fix their mistakes. This is a father/son operation and I get the impression that they hand off work to each other and don't leave...
Read moreMy family and I just returned from playing here. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and were just playing for an hour. The 2 women at the desk were not particularly pleasant, but not that big of deal. We went to our 2 assigned lanes. Whoever played prior to us had spilled some water on the table. My sister went up to the same 2 ladies and asked if she could have a rag to wipe it up and they told her no. She was taken aback and asked if she could please have some napkins and was again told no. My sister just slowly turned around and told us what had happened and she was just shaking her head because what the heck?! My brother said that that was ridiculous so he went up to another lady at the other desk who happened to have a stack of napkins in front of her and she told him no too!!! What the hell?! He walked away saying we are never coming here again. That particular lady then proceeds to count the napkins in front of her. What?! We literally just spent over $100 here and you are counting and rationing napkins and not letting us wipe up a mess left by someone?? You should be...
