Let me start on a positive note first. The people there are friendly. But they have a very small selection, the parking is shared by pretty much every other store Front in downtown Shelby so if it's full by the more popular places prepare to walk a small distance to get to the place. I was extremely dissatisfied with my alterations in fact I had to do more myself when I got home. The alteration prices are very expensive I had minimal work done an inch and a half taken off of the shoulders and a small Belt charm (I could have added myself) and a single button removed from the very back cost me $45. The cups either they are had already added or came with the dress didn't fit my chest even though I'm rather large chested. Another girl that had the same dress as me had her alterations done elsewhere needed more work done and only cost her $25 and that seamstress did so much better work. I believe they're highly overpriced and their alterations are not worth the price they charge you. If you're looking for a bridal gown please don't be afraid to go take a look but take it elsewhere to have it altered. I also recommend this for bridesmaids dresses and any other Formal Wear you may need. As for accessories you could probably find more options online or even at Claire's. I had three buttons fall off before the wedding I attended even begin so thank the Lord I brought a sewing kit with me. The bride's wedding I attended also had buttons that needed to be taken care of the day of her wedding. Shelby North Carolina does not offer a lot for Formal Wear locations and bridal stores but it may be worth it for you to check out beautiful bride before going here. When I got married I checked places out of town and found a way better selections with way better prices including alteration prices this store offers an extremely small selection for shoes as well I found a better selection of formal shoes at the Dillard's Outlet in Gastonia and the shoes were way better priced. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars it's simply based on how polite the employees were.if you have a very special event coming up it will be worth your time to check out other places first. You would think after alterations your dress should fit you perfectly and my case it was not and they were so pressed for time it wasn't worth me even asking them to take a better look. My dress should have been fitted around my chest and my waist. There should have been more time taken to ensure I was happy with the dress but instead I settled only because while I was there I kept hearing how pressed for time they were to get other alterations done but they obviously seemed were more important yep did not include bridal dresses themselves. Not just to me but for other Bridesmaids as well we were not happy with alterations we had completed to our dresses and if it wasn't for some last minute handy work on our own part the bride would have not been happy either. if you're going to be a bride and bridesmaid mother of the bride or even going to prom please check other places first even if that means going out of town it will be worth it I promise. I will finish by saying the only reason why I had my dress purchased an altered here was due at the bride's request and once she saw what me and a few other girls went through with our dresses she agreed that another location would have probably been a better fit for her and her...
Read moreCheryl and Carolina Bridal are an asset to Shelby! How lucky are we to have them in our city?
I had heard that Cheryl was a genius with alterations and the rumours were true. She can do anything! I initially visited the store to try on wedding gowns and found some beautiful options! While I ultimately purchased my gown from another store, my mother and I both liked Carolina Bridal and its associates, so we knew that we wanted Cheryl to alter my gown. I was on a crazy time frame – I am from Cherryville and getting married in Cherryville, but I live in England and would only be in town sporadically leading up to the wedding. This meant that the majority of my alterations would have to be done the week before the wedding and on a very tight timeline. Cheryl was able to accommodate me and everything went so smoothly!
The dress needed some MAJOR alterations. Aside from the normal hem line and shoulders, she essentially remade the top of the gown. When all was said and done, the gown was stunning and looked like it was made for me (which at that point, it was haha). She also added a beautiful bustle design that made it look even more like a Disney princess gown! I simply could not be more thrilled...
Read moreThese women are greedy, don’t use this overpriced shop! I ordered a tux from them and it cost me $200 and I ordered 2 weeks in advance and the owner measured my son. The tux finally arrived 3 days before prom and the shirt, vest and jacket were too small! The owner blamed it on my son’s muscles.. they wouldn’t get a bigger size jacket or vest but reordered the shirt. The shirt came so late, a couple of hours before prom was to start. I was late on taking pictures as a result and had to travel back and forth through construction and traffic three times, almost an hour drive each way.The “new shirt” that was ordered was too large, but too late to re order. The suit was also dirty, it had gum in the pocket! When I returned the suit I asked for a price adjustment for my trouble, I was told nobody was there to do so and I’d have to wait until Wednesday for a call from the owner to come back from vacation.. we’ll Wednesday came and went with no call.. I can also say that while we were there others were complaining about similar issues, one other customer got their shoes way too small. Obviously this shop only cares about the money and not your special day or if you become a...
