Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Shelby

So me an my daughter pays 40 some dollars to eat I'm not going to lie I put a small salad in a bag I had that's all nothing else I didn't think it was a big deal I'm 63 an wasn't thinking so I guess the manger did not interduce himself cam up to our table an said you 2 are thief's I no you put something in y'all purse y'all are stealing food from his restaurant an he was calling the law I took the salad out an layed it on the table he was up in my face the person I was with had nothing so I said can we finish our meal an he said no an he was louder an embarrassing us over a small salad an then went to say we done this before I told him no that was a lie he continued to call us thief's I said once again can we finish our meal he because he didn't give us a name an it had nothing to do with who I was eating he said you are with her so your a thief an stealer just like her she payed for the meal he said again I'm calling police an have you arrested by that time I said go ahead he should have not talked to us like that an embarrassed us he should have said we don't allow food to be took out let us finish our meal or gave her the money back an he cont say we was stealing we haven't left yet then he went to say we done this before I said no show me an his respond was I don't haft to I admit I had a salad an gave it to him but he was way way outta his way to delittlan show out in fount of the packed place he should have came over an said taking foid out is not allowed but yet he caused this big thing it was lettice cheese potsalad thats all i amitt i had it showed him my pursean shshowed hers she had nothing to do wirh it an he still done her the same way this was not handled in a professional way you would have though id robbed the place needless to say a tip was left for waitress an we left i will be calling corporate office an yes i no...

It's always hit or miss when it comes to this style place. I've been to several in several states...some really good, some not so good. This one, not so much...

First, the concept...$10, all you can eat at lunch time on a Saturday.

*I need to note, all I wanted was a big salad that I could compose. No "just an AYCE salad" option. Oh well...

My mom had a hankering for a BLT. No other menu/a la carte option.

Buffet it is...

We ordered waters to drink and had no server connection for 17 minutes!! **I looked at time on the receipt and the time he came.

We finally flagged one down that was clearing the table behind us, she'd "go find him"... (In his defense, he kept our glasses full after he finally came)...

Now the bars. The salad bar was awesome. It only had the basic salad bar items, but everything was really good... The hot bar, not so much...

Note, we rang in at 12:18pm. Everything should have been fresh, right?

Now, I'm a "grazer"...so I just got bits and pieces of several things, rather than piles of a couple.

Everything was dry! Pork chop: dry... Bourbon chicken: dry. The fish (the one in corn meal (?)) was veeerrry "fishy" tough. The cooked carrots were just ok. The cooked cauliflower (with a drizzle of cheese) had zero flavor. The peppers and onions from the "build your own area" we're soggy and tasteless...

Second trip, I got a fried chicken wing and some mashed potatoes and immediately wished I'd started at 'that end' of the bar. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were awesome!!!

All said, it's very doubtful I'd stop here again except to maybe get some chicken and MP to go...

Words can't describe how. We were treated, I entered the restaurant and told the cashier I was paying for a party of seven five adults and two small children "two year olds" I ordered all the drinks it came up to a little over 60 bucks I paid. I told the person who seated us the same. He took us the a large table and I got two high chairs. So the three of us sit down and waited on the rest of the party to attend. So my son and his wife and my two grandchildren came in the door and where chased down as the walked to our table like someone trying to steal something the lady snatched our receipt of the table and held my son's chair so he could not sit down yet with a small child in his arms. Saying we haven't paid for everyone .the two other managers that come with her was trying to stop her and seemed like they new that we have paid. Because one of them put us at the table in the first place. The lady took her finger and went down the receipt and made sure everything was paid for. Then after seeing everything was on the up-an-up with the receipt she placed it rather hard on table. and with her nose up in there and walked off without an apology. The other manager there did Apologize and said he completely understood about it being inappropriate behavior. it's sad when you try to go out with your family and be treated that way.

Update I have went online and made a complaint and have not even gotten a phone call. Two weeks now...
