Maurices — Local services in Shelbyville

For a small town this is a pretty cool women's clothing store. Women of all ages shop here but most of the clothes seem aimed towards 20 to 35 year old. Lots of hip new styles, ripped jeans, cool tops, shorts, skirts, dresses, jewelry, shoes, sandals, accessories, and more. Many items 50% to 75% off retail price. Which is great because some jeans cost about $70 in here.

They do not carry the super expensive name brands, but have higher priced clothes than most other stores in this farming town. The music was played loud and had upbeat tunes on it. The staff was friendly and helpful as needed, and they seemed to take care of all the shoppers needs in a timely manner.

Great place for a young woman to buy some clothes, look casual and hip, but not look like a teenager. With the sales going on and several clearance racks your pocket book won't be hit too hard for an entire new outfit. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I have actually avoided shopping here for the last year or so, due to the attitude and unwillingness to help from previous employees I dealt with here.

Not to mention the sales that are/ were happening while I was there made the trip pretty good too! I saved over $200.00, and got enough clothes to last a few weeks! I got 2 pairs of Vigoss Jean's, 4 pairs of Maurice style work type pants (2 pairs black pants, 2 pairs of khaki pants), 2 shirts, 1 tank top, 2 Jacket Sweater type thingies, 2 Flannel button down over shirts, and 1 blanket scarf! Clearance additional 60% off, plus almost everything else was 50% off!

No plus size selection. It’s sad because it used to not be like that. If you are plus size and want to see the new stuff or variety in person do not go to this location. Their “regular” sizes are completely taking over the plus size section. Wish Maurice’s would do...
