Iāve been collecting retro games/consoles for most of my adult life and spent some years working in a video game retailer myself. Iām super picky about what Iāll buy and try to find items in the best condition possible. I came here with my wife and a friend visiting from out of town. We donāt have Game X Change where Iām from so I was excited to check this place out. Coming up to the store I was initially skeptical until I went inside.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Cody and Piper. They were pretty busy when we first came in but still greeted us and asked if we needed help in spite of dealing with a fairly large group of people. We spent some time looking around the store and I was immediately impressed at the quality of the items we saw. You can tell that theyāre meticulous, most of the games cases were in solid condition and had the manuals.
Behind the glass, they had a great selection of rare/sealed games and they were well below market price. I picked up Resident Evil 3 for the GameCube for $94 when the average price is about $130+, also picked up a sealed hitman collectors edition that averages about $50 for $30. My wife is a huge fan of Sega games and both Piper and Cody were super patient with her as she went through the stacks behind the counter and not once made either of us feel like a bother.
I walked in expecting to only spend about $10 and left spending, well not $10 but I was absolutely thrilled with what we found, we all were. The friend that was with us collects cards and though I donāt know much about trading cards he said that he was blown away at the condition of the cards and the price ranges, again most below the average market price you would see buying privately.
Although the McKinney location is closer to our home, this will be my store of choice going forward. We had a great experience, found things weād been looking for, and were treated so kindly by the team. They did awesome especially being as busy as they were. Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there just looking for games with a friend of mine and the manager overheard our conversation and immediately said "I'm just gonna have to disagree with you on that one" all because I said I didn't like a certain game. He wasn't even next to us he shouted it across the store which I thought was extremely odd. Another time I was in there shopping and I overheard him being really creepy to a female customer and was asking for her number. You could tell it was making her uncomfortable, heck it even made me uncomfortable. That Cody guy is super rude and acts frustrated when you ask him questions he's totally ruined that store he always has an attitude he talks to you very condesinding for no reason and has terrible customer service. The store smells like dirty feet and has so much junk you can barley even walk around. I've been going there since it first opened but ever since he started running it I don't even bother I've had nothing but bad experiences there. I've gave him too many chances as it is, save yourself the hassle and just go to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe manager Cody here is rude. And this is the first for me to experience it. I have only heard from my sister on another occasion where he was out of his way rude! We went in picked three games. We didnāt read the tiny print on the bottom of the sign. You figure if they want you to be aware of something they wouldnāt put it in tiny letters. After spending 30+ minutes of looking and choosing we go up to the register only to be told that they wonāt honor the sale cause we had retro games. We told him of a scenario in our town and his reply was, āwell if you got away with it there then good for you!ā Really sir? Is that how you treat customers and how you speak to them? That was enough for us to terminate the sale with this store completely. We were buying two 22.95 games and getting a 13.95 game for free which would have been cheaper on your end vs. us choosing three 22.95 games but hey good job Cody you just saved your business sooo much money. š but you lost a customer who is a collector and buys...
