Extremely disappointed with AMC Kitsap 8. The way they handled their Eras Tour movie merch was ridiculous and the communication amongst staff was horrible. I called Wednesday and was told that they were selling merch Thursday since the opening night was changed. When I showed up Thursday I explained to the girl in the ticket booth that I have a ticket for a showing on Saturday, but I would like to get my merch now since I was seeing other people on social media doing the same thing. I just wanted 1 cup, 1 tin, and 1 tote bag. She told me that they werenât selling merch that day since it wasnât technically opening night, but that I could come back Friday. She also explained that they had enough for everyone attending the showing this weekend and that their limit was 5 of each item per person. I left the conversation so confused, so I called later that evening to confirm with a manager. The phone was given to the same girl I spoke with earlier Thursday afternoon, not a manager. She told me that she sat down with her manager and they decided that they were only letting people buy Eras Tour merch if they were seeing the Eras Tour movie and it had to be on the day of their purchased ticket showing no earlier than 30 minutes before. She again reiterated that they hand enough set aside for everyone attending this weekend to purchase merch and that their limit was 5 per person. I trusted this person since they said it multiple times. When I arrived to my showing on Saturday (10/14) I was surprised to hear from the concessions worker that they were âsold out of everything except the large cupsâ. That is exactly what I was told by the worker. They even said they didnât know when they were going to get more because they sold out on the first day. I was quite bummed, but I wasnât going to let it ruin my experience entirely. About midway through the movie, the woman next to me tells me that they are selling totes again, so I sent my boyfriend to go get me one. He came back with a popcorn tin instead (which I was happy about) and said the guy told him they already sold out of the totes again. When the woman next to me comes back, she tells me that the person she spoke with at concessions told her that they set out a certain amount of merch every 5 hours because yesterday (Friday 10/13) people were buying too much merch. Here is what I have a problem with, they are either telling their employees to lie to customers about being sold out and about having enough for the entire weekend, or these managers donât know how to communicate with their staff. Either way it is extremely disappointing. I was told three separate times that I was going to be able to get all the merch I wanted, which was literally just 1 tin, 1 cup, and 1 tote, and that did not happen. I hate going to movie theaters, I never go out of fear, but I made an exception this one time because I genuinely wanted the merchandise and I wasnât able to get what I went there for because of the lies and/or lack of communication amongst the staff. If there is a next time, I am going to take my business to another movie theater...
Read moreTerrible customer service experience. First of all, they have no warning indicating that they are not enforcing Social Distancing at the theater anymore. I went with my date to go see Eternals on 11/11/2021 at 7:00PM. I pre-ordered my tickets using the AMC app. When I pre-ordered, the movie theater was maybe 1/4 of the way full. I picked bad seats so that we would be away from other people. When I arrived I bought a large fountain drink to enjoy with the movie. As we're sitting in the theater, more and more people keep coming in. Eventually the whole theater is full, no seats were open. So we had strangers sitting on all sides of us, most of which were not wearing masks. So not only are they not enforcing Social Distancing, but not enforcing mask wearing either.
So I took my date and we requested a refund. They said they will refund me ALMOST all of my money for the tickets, but not all because they don't refund the "convenience fee". They would not refund me my drink that I was no longer going to be enjoying with the movie. Mind you I am not a confrontational person, so I was completely calm and cordial throughout the whole transaction. So I messaged Corporate on Facebook (because apparently you can only contact them via Facebook and Twitter now).
Corporate said "as a one-time courtesy" they will refund me the "convenience fee" and ignored the fact that I said I didn't get a refund for my drink either.
I've since sent an email to the health authority asking them why they are not mandating social distancing in the movie theaters when strangers have to sit so close to each other. I hated it when strangers sat next to me BEFORE the pandemic, let alone now that they can be disease carrying.
So please keep in mind that if the county/state does not mandate social distancing again in the movie theaters, the movie theaters aren't going to do what's best for their customers and enforce social distancing anyway. They just care about their bottom line of making as much $$$$ as possible and don't care about the health or safety of their patrons. They will then have the audacity to say they can't/wont waive (or will one-time courtesy waive) their fees when they're not doing what is best for their customers. Absolutely terrible experience. I won't ever be going...
Read moreReached out many times without getting my time valued or even respected. Greedy people who would rather sell defective seat and risk others property than close a seat. The negligence of the employees when I had brought up to their attention that my seat didnât close caused a domino effect. Let me explain: 30 minutes before the showing of my movie I was there and I heard someone from the room they were showing the movie I was gonna watch saying their seat was broken. Once it was my turn to go sit down I noticed that it was also my seat so I go back outside and I explain the situation. The employees neglected my concerns and did nothing. (it wasnât very busy.) then I carry on watching the movie and my phone, which was perfectly fine for over two years never got a crack I had to protective screen and a hard shell case just for context, got lodged in the crevices of the seat, but unfortunately, I couldnât get to it because the seat would not close. It was stuck on recline.. from there I ask for help and employees were unable to turn on the lights(after the movie) Or take apart the defective seat. One of the two employees there says Iâll just lift it up and shake it speaking of the seat. Before I could even say anything, which I still did say no, donât do that. Thatâs a bad idea. They were already shaking the seat and all directions violently and I hear a crack! At that moment, my heart sunk because I use my phone for work and I knew what just happened. They had just broke my screen.. the rest of the evening is here on video, but what had happened when I finally got a call two weeks later I was to say the least left hanging high and dry by very rude condescending comments, and the lack of accountability. If anybody reads this, just go give your money to another cinema in the area. There are small businesses who will take care of you and love on you and show you the best experience! For these terrible people, including Julia, who was the one who was incredibly condescending and left me hanging if you have any recommendations as to how to handle this issue and perhaps sue them let me...
