Ok so I like to start with positives before we get into the “needs improvement” arena. First off, the place is clean, it looks nice and has decent parking. Next, there was the front desk. I was treated with respect and understanding from the clerk at the front. He quickly and professionally set us up with an appointment for the next day, and we were on our way. That unfortunately is the end of my positives. The next day arrives and we arrive for our appointment at our scheduled time. (30 minutes prior in fact) our appointment time was 11. Totally fine and great for my needs. We decided to stay at the nearby Starbucks to pass the time. 1pm rolls by (2 hours past our appointment time) and our car is still in the parking lot and not seen. I think they are just busy and short staffed, no problems there, everyone is hurting. I go in to check the schedule and see how much longer it will be. The clerk was again nice and told me “you are up next, shouldn’t be long now.” Perfect, so I leave and give them some extra time. 3pm rolls by and still no movement or news. This is now 4 hours past our appointment time. 4 hours. I go in again, and again am told “it shouldn’t be long now your car is next.” Well, my car was next at 1pm as well. Quite possibly my car would be “next” until the end of time, had I not just asked for my keys back at 4pm. We were told no one is working on cars and there is a “mechanics meeting” going on. That’s all well and good except for our appointment was now 5 hours past due. I would think if you are 5+ hours behind schedule, that we could wait on “meetings” for a little bit while we take care of customers waiting well past their appointment time. While they were having a nice chat, there was no movement in their shop. I eventually had to ask for my keys back to leave at 4pm, 5+ hours past my allotted appointment time. My day was practically over by this point.
Can’t recommend this place until management gets let go and replaced by someone who can manage schedules a bit better. They had no problem taking the appointments, the problem was KEEPING the...
Read moreBLUF: I paid $1,500 for Firestone to fix overheating in car, and overheating issue returns in a month. I feel cheated.
I took my car to Firestone to solve overheating in a Honda Civic. -Firestone staff first recommended ~$1,300 in repairs to fix radiator and coolant system issue. I agree. -Firestone team calls me later, stating that repairs would now be $1,900 based on a melted dipstick. This wasn't identified during the initial diagnostic that I paid for. I'm already on the hook for $1,300. I argue for the price to come down stating that the dipstick should have been checked when they did the initial diagnostic. We agree on the repairs to be ~$1,500.
A month later, following repairs, the car overheats again. I take the car back to Firestone to see if maybe their repairs have some sort of warranty. The Firestone team tell me that allegedly there is damage to the head gasket that they missed during previous inspections - keeping in mind they didn't check the dipstick during the initial inspection I paid for. New repairs would be ~$4,300, on top of what I've already paid. I decline the additional repairs; however I do request if the mechanic who performed the inspection could show me a bit more detail as far as what is wrong in the car. The front desk don't do that. Basically the front desk explains that there can only be so many things wrong that cause overheating/leaking coolant issues in a car. I get the feeling from the explanation that they didn't truly identify the problem, now or previously.
Car still overheats. I would have been better off not taking the car to Firestone in the first place. I do not trust the repair recommendations after failure to catch the dipstick damage & alleged issues with the head gasket. Too many instances of "well, we didn't catch that".
Guys were polite in all our conversations - but I still feel as if I got screwed through this...
Read moreI brought my Mustang in for a visual inspection and then I was told that there's 2 different types one that's a little over $20 that they just do a quick inspection, top fluids, check tires, etc. I said, I want a little more detail than that. I want to know if I need wheel bearings or something I have some weird vibration. They said well for $50. We checked the battery. We put it up on the lift. We checked the wheels, the balancing. We check to make sure that if things aren't worn out now, we don't actually take anything really apart, but we do a more in detailed check. We also check compression of each cylinder, and we check the battery and we check the alternator. I said that sounds good. I'll have that one so they gave me a little write up and said, yeah, that I needed to have my the tires rebalanced. I went ahead and had them do that, and then when I got home and I was looking at the paperwork, there was no battery check. There was no alternator check And there was no compression check. So I paid for that service, but never received it. I called them and was told I would have to call back the next day and talk to the guy that took care of me. I called the next day and that guy was unavailable, and no one could answer my question. I am beyond upset. They also didn't know how to drive a stick shift. The really large fellow who drove my car into the shop, stalled it 3 times on the way in the younger guy that drove it out of the shop, stalled it 4 times and parked it in a handicapped spot because he couldn't back it up. I was not happy about their abuse to my vehicle, or they're only doing so much of the work that they said they would do. Highly not...
