Did someone say Wok on Fire for lunch? For people who may not know, Wok on Fire is a restaurant where everything is buffet style. You pick and choose between types of noodles, uncooked vegetables, three types of sliced frozen meat and then several types of sauces. After that, you hand over the bowl full of stuff to someone who will stir fry them up. Sounds great, right?? My family and I met there at 11:15 today, pretty much when the restaurant opened. I will have to admit this is one restaurant I'm not sure that I will return to in the future, I won't say no for sure, but I have doubts that I will again. The restaurant was reasonably clean although where my family and I sat we could see underneath the bar that held all the items to assemble, that area looked a little bit on the dirtier side, a couple of the windows should have been cleaner, but as far as tables cleanliness, they all appeared fresh, and the floor appeared to be tidy. Our server was friendly, and she had a sweet smile but wasn't overly chatty. However, the person that was cooking the stuff up wasn't pleasant at all, didn't say one word to us, nor did she smile once. We felt as though we were more of a burden to her than paying customers. And I have mixed feelings about tipping twice; there was a basket on the counter where the food was being cooked that had words that read "tips" and then we are expected to tip at the end when paying for our bill? When we dine at other restaurants, we don't tip twice. Perhaps its more prevalent in these types of restaurants where we can see our food being cooked up? Her impolite stares and un-called for rudeness did not deserve a tip, However I tipped her as well hoping it would combat the harsh glares. Overall the food mediocre at best in my opinion and very bland sauces overall, even if the food had been good, with her behind the wok- would send me looking...
Read moreI am bummed to leave this review but this was crazy. We love this place and have been regulars for a while. We went in the other night and had a table for 5. Place was pretty empty and the dirtiest I have seen it. Out of nowhere the place got packed! The oriental lady working there (that used to work at Gig Harbor) personality went from nice to rude. We were still sitting at our table finishing our drinks and she came over and just grabbed the table in front of my husband and dragged it away hitting his knees and feet. She said “I need this” and just took it leaving my mom and husband with no table. Didn’t talk to Us and ask just took it and hit everything in her path. We were beyond irritated and got up to leave and go pay our bill. The nerve of this woman gets even better. She goes to check us out at the register. My dad counts out his money and gives it her. He then turns around and gives my mom some money he had in his pocket. The lady actually (very seriously) says “What no money for me” with her hand held out!! My dad looked at her like she lost her mind. He then proceeded to let her greedy self know that when she was cooking our food he put a $20 in the basket. There was no thank you and it even an acknowledgment. She should go back to Gig Harbor and let the two sisters run it like they used to. They are always so kind and never treat the...
Read moreMy family usually come here because my wife and I like how we can create our bowls exactly how we like them... and we always know the service is subpar. Once they get your drinks, you're lucky if they check up on you once. You'll have to go get your own refills and wait a couple minutes to pay your bill and leave. We just go because of the food. But I think this will be our last visit to Wok on Fire. The place is dirty, the rice scoop in dirty water. I made my bowl, made my wife made my son's. She then made hers and was waiting as I sat at the table. You can see them cook on the wok plus into the back partially. My wife saw a woman sitting on a box on the floor, slicing carrots into a bus tub on the floor. With cockroaches crawling. Totally disgusting and against health code (has to be at least 6 inches off the floor). We also went during a slower time, and watched a guy come in and wait with his bowl on the counter for 5 minutes as the three women working just kept laughing and talking, walking past his bowl on the counter. With lackluster service and a lack of cleanliness in food prep and overall maintenance, I won't be recommending anyone to eat...
