I must say, though I did not live in that era, today I experienced what it must have felt like in segregation in the 50's today. On today Friday May 23, 2025 at 2040 pm, my daughter and I decided to go to Kohl's in Simpsonville, SC 621 Fairview Road. May I begin by saying I have been to Kohl's several times previous and experienced the exact same treatment, from the same ladies; for respect of identification sake let's call them the "Kohl's Karens." When I go to Kohl's whether alone or with my daughter (an 11 year old young lady) we are followed around the store as if we are going to steal something. I am also asked several times do I need help with something, even though I did not ask for help, and the previous times asked, my answer was the same. But yes I have been there and experienced the same treatment from roughly the same group. Why do I go back there? Well, because the 11 year old young lady mentioned earlier happens to like the place. In the previous obvious cases of discrimination and racial profiling at Kohl's in Simpsonville SC, I would always say to myself "Those ladies may be just treating me this way because they had a bad day." But after several incidents of the same kind, and now my daughter wondering why we are treated as such, I must say it's disgusting. I have never stolen anything. I shop so heavy at Kohl's I have had hundreds of Kohl's bucks. I even hold my purchases in the air up high at check out so the "Kohl's Karens" can clearly see I do not have any intention of wanting to steal from them. People entering the building should be made aware that only "certain racial or ethnic groups" would be followed and treated like criminals. But honestly, the elder ladies mentioned previously as the "Kohl's Karen's" that worked on Friday evening May 23, 2025, I sincerely wish them peace and prosperity in all they do, as they fully represent the...
Read moreI entered the Simpsonville, SC Kohl's with my 2 Service Dogs & no one asked me if I needed any aide until I had traversed 1/4 of the store. Unacceptable. While being rung up at the jewelry counter by Erin the other woman at that counter asked me about my Dalmatian mix, if she was a " 'pit bull ' ". Absolutely Unacceptable. ADA Title III : A service animal is a DOG. Even IF Febe, my task trained Service Dog, was a " ' pit bull ' " per Federal Law that " ' pit bull ' "would be legally allowed to accompany me; the Disabled person. ADA Tile III states that you are only legally allowed are: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff (Khol's employees) cannot ask about the personâs disability, the dog's breed, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task I no longer...
Read moreGreat place to go for school uniforms, especially since you get Kohl's cash. You can use it to go back in a couple of days and get a few more things (I racked up $90 in Kohl's cash the last time I was there). They have a decent selection of clothes for everyone but I've found that you have to be very picky about what brand you purchase. I love that they carry Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, etc. But they also sell some brands that I haven't heard of, like the novelty t-shirts for instance, which tend to shrink a good bit or not last very long. The prices are pretty good and I do love the Kohl's cash you get, just make sure you use it before it expires. Try using their app - they have a great selection of home decor and other items that aren't sold in the store. You can use Kohl's cash...
