Bedouin — Local services in Sisters

When I drive east through The Cascades from Eugene, my first destination is always Bedouin. I make that trip often as much for visiting this shop as for the spectacular drive, and it's about time I posted a review. There have been times that I have made the two hour drive (one way) just to go to Bedouin. When I walk in, I immediately feel better somehow. This shop has such great "juju," is so thoughtfully and artfully designed, and sells such beautiful things. Just being in that space is instantly soothing. Harmony (the owner) is very careful about the quality and originality of her items, and she displays them like the art they are. Every single thing she sells is art; jewelry, clothing, stationery, tableware, home decor. She clearly prefers quality and originality/creativity over quantity/touristy kitsch. Her staff are wonderful, welcoming women of all smiling ages, and they will make you feel like you're in the company of family you didn't...

I visited a couple years ago while in Sisters and loved this store. I purchased some really beautiful items, including a necklace for myself that ended up being a really special piece of jewelry that I almost never took off and which has been around the world with me. On a recent rare occasion when I did take it off, I ended up losing the necklace and was so upset about it. I sent an inquiry to Bedouin through their website asking if I could purchase a replacement and the owner responded so quickly and helped me find a replacement of the exact necklace. This is a fantastic boutique just off the beaten path of downtown Sisters. Quite an arrangement of unique and high quality items. Majestic is a word my wife used to describe Bedouin- when you enter you seem as if you are transported to an international marketplace, with goods from multiple cultures represented.
