Giant Eagle bagging experience. 7-25-2024 6:14pm
You had better keep a close watch on your cashier while they bag your items.
I bought a bunch of 6 bananas, some flowers, 24 cans of cat food, some ice cream and some Outshine fruit bars. I was putting the stem end of the flowers in a bag so I wouldn't get water on my car seat. I wasn't really paying attention to the cashier Monique. I paid my bill and was putting the bags in my cart. I was looking for the bananas when I found them buried under the 24 cans of cat food. I asked Monique why she put my bananas under all of those cans. She had the gall to say I watched her do it. I did NOT watch her do it or I wouldn't have allowed it. How rude.
I went to the service desk and no one was there. I turned around and saw the manager and he said he's be there as soon as he could. I waited a couple of minutes until he got there. I asked him if the cashiers received any training. He said basic instructions. I told him what happened and he said he was sorry. He asked if I wanted to get some different bananas and I said no, refund what I paid for my now severely bruised bananas.
This bagging 24 cans of cat food on top of bananas is unacceptable. She had to double bag it because it was so heavy. The cashiers comment was rude and condescending. She obviously had no training or common sense. Again, this was totally uncalled for and unacceptable.
I would shop somewhere else but it is the only grocery store in Slippery Rock. They are obviously hurting for employees.
This is not the first time I have experienced mindless, ignorant bagging. Just the first time I put it...
Read moreThis location is the worst with pricing and employees. If I must stop in here, I usually end up leaving angry. There is something to be said for friendliness and kindness, and I never find it here. (Only in the pharmacy) I am shocked (I shouldn't be anymore) at how much the prices have risen over the last several years, and I mean like $2-3 on one item compared to the Butler Walmart who has literally everything. Certain items that we usually buy weekly are even over $3 higher here. Then there are all the college students working here, playing around in the aisles, blocking customers getting through with their U-boats of boxes. They are horsing around, laughing and they always ignore you. It is very off-putting. I have been grossly overcharged just 3 times in the last few months. So, I give up. I get my scripts, look at nothing here and leave quickly. Not worth your time. Drive to Butler, get everything you need in one stop, use the self-checker (where you don't need a special card to use it), and aside from a little extra spending in gas to drive, you leave with a smile on your face. FuelPerks are useless. What you save in gas, you overpay on your groceries. Think about it, it's not a hard...
Read moreI was in this Giant Eagle the other night and tonight and this man, an employee followed me around! I was looking at the meats and saw one meat had a coupon and the other did not I was going to switch the coupon and he informed that I couldn’t do that and I said okay. Then he proceeded to follow me and my boyfriend around the store all the way until we checked out and when we checked out he was watching us at the register the whole time. I went in tonight to get a couple items and he followed me around again and again came to register I was at and looked at the screen of the cashier. Mind you there were other people in front of me who he did not do that to. I’m not sure what this mans name is but I will be contacting the hiring ups for discrimination and I won’t be shopping at this unorganized, racist, and cluttered Giant Eagle. I would rather drive 20 minutes away and spend my money else where. What makes this place worse is that I used to work here and quit because they expect employees to tolerate disrespectful customers. I wish I could give this...
