Visited for the first time this evening around 5 pm on a Friday. The place was hopping about 8 people in front of us to order. We were not familiar with the process of ordering at the counter then sitting down. We sat first and then realized you had to stand in line to order. I first looked at the menu online prior to going and was not happy to see the prices were way off from the actual menu prices at the counter. The munchie platter said $11.49 online but when ordering it was $13.99! Nothing was the same as the online prices. I also decided to try the Pittsburgh Dog thinking it would be something to talk about. It was a small Ball Park dog and maybe two spoons of coleslaw and the bun was cracking every time I picked it up not fresh. My fries were swimming in the sauce so much that I could not eat them. The munchie platter said potato pancakes but they were actually just small hash rounds nothing special. Steak salad my Dad had was plentiful but hard to mix using tiny plastic forks. The staff seemed scarce. Like the rest of the work world unfortunately. My grown kids in their 20’s loved it back in the summer so I sadly had to disagree and I’m not a habitual reviewer. We had to wait 45-50 mins for our order also. My kids said when they went they sat in bar area and had table service, full service? Why would that be so on that side and not the sit down restaurant side? The condiments area was lacking supplies and the tables were not getting cleaned after each patron. There was a lot of trash on the floor as well. I’m sorry but this was not a good first impression. There was 3 in our party and my Parents live nearby half the year and I was...

This being said, when I was first greeted by the bartender/waitress Dot, it was immediately apparent from her tone and mannerisms that we were an unnecessary burden for her to wait on. Nevertheless, we began to order our drinks and there shortarter she asked me for my id. Being that I left my wallet in my work truck, I only had my valid pa drivers license which I presented. She quickly noted that since I had too many duplicate ids, I would need another form of id. I joked about this never being an issue in the past and that I don’t believe I have any other form of Id or debit card etc. After she walked away, I realized that I did indeed have a business credit card with my name on it in my truck. However when I notified her of this on her next arrival she quickly rescinded her offer and said that anyone dumb enough to lose that many ids doesn’t deserve to be drinking. I suffer from a post concussive syndrome more known commonly known as cts and sometimes lose personal items quite frequently. And although I still have issues dealing w everyday struggles, I don’t think that should disqualify me from being able to drink. In light of my experience here today, I strongly discourage anyone from stopping in at Coney Island, especially when...
Read moreThere isn't much in Slippery Rock. This is 1 of 3 bars. One is a brewery downtown, 1 is a tavern downtown that is packed with college students. I would say this is the townie bar. Its in a plaza next to a grocery store and near a hotel. Very convenient location if visiting Slippery Rock. It had a Decent draft beer selection. Didn't eat, so don't know about the food. There is a bottle shop/sub shop connected next door that is part of this place. It was clean and the staff was good, not overly friendly but by no means rude. Had that local bar feel and a few local drunks getting a little rowdy, so it might make some uncomfortable, but if you don't mind that it seemed like a good place to watch a game and...
