Pathetic management and store policy on exchange. I went into Academy Sports @1585 Scenic Hwy N. Snellville Ga.30078 on 12/27/2023 wanting to get an exchange on 2 large BCG Solid Short Sleeve Polo Tshirts. I was greeted by a young man at the door to whom i expressed why i was there. He didn't know how to answer my request so i asked to speak with a manager. He goes an returned back accompanied by a young african american girl who i asked "how are you today" she responded with..i cannot do an exchange unless you're getting the same size and the same color shirts. I said young lady these were a gift, she says, then where is your receipt. I said they're gift wrapped in a box. She then says...the receipt should've been in the box.😡 I said WHAT!! Why do i want to get the same color, this makes no sense to me. I told her that i already have these 2 colors and im not changing my size. I just want to get 2 other colors that i dont have. She then says "sir im sorry but this is the store policy to not accept any exchanges unless you are getting the EXACT same thing". Because each shirt has its own number attached. BUT ITS THE SAME SHIRTS with the tags still on them ma'am!😡 I then said do you know how stupid you sound saying this. This is the dumbest return policy, I've never heard anything like this before. Read moreCalled in advance to see if this store had a particular grill. I was told by an associate that there is only one left. I asked if they could hold the item as I was right up the road and needed to know if they could hold it. I advised him I would like to purchase the grill, but I need to make sure that it fit into my vehicle first. Asked if I could get the dimensions of the box. The associate provided me with 2424.548, and said the only way he could hold the item is if I purchased it online first. I placed the order. I go to the store, and the item is not ready. Then despite my request for curbside I was told I needed to come into the store because they did not think the box would fit, and they don't want to move it for nothing. I did not have my mask as I never planned on exiting my vehicle (That part was my mistake.) I have to follow someone all the way through the store, and into the employees only backroom to the box. Only to find out their associate gave me bogus information. They were kind enough to tell me I could go try and rent a vehicle large enough to fit the box, or cancel my purchase. I cancelled the purchase. To make matters worse, I will not have a grill for this long anticipated 3 day weekend because Academy Sports and Outdoors is holding my $317.99 hostage for up to 7 business days. Read moreAcademy Sports Snellville is a great store with a lot to choose from. It is neat in appearance which makes items easy to find. Customer service is usually very good. However today when 4/20/2023 at 3:06 pm, I had a strange interaction with the young man on the register. My husband wears an XL in t-shirts, the one I wanted today was on the bottom of the display as well as underneath other shirts like it in different sizes. I noticed when I retrieved the shirt that the tags were detached and laying on the display. I picked them up and took them to the register with me. When the young man was ringing my items up, I handed him the tags which had detached from the shirt. He questioned if the tags had "just come off." I told him the tshirt had been on the bottom of the stack. I don't remember what he said exactly but I didn't care for it so I informed him that he was welcome to check the price and tags against the other shirts. He declined and said he just thought "it was funny." Well I didn't think his comments were funny nor did I like them and I should have asked to speak with a manager. After leaving I became more disturbed by what I felt were the young man's insinuations hence the reason for this review. Hopefully he will receive additional training on customer service and be instructed to refrain from sharing what HE thinks is funny with customers...
