I visited the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant on Scenic Highway, Snellville last Friday to dine in with my family. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us at the front door and asked us how many was in our party. She was incredibly sweet and informative. She informed us that it would be about a 30-minute wait for a party of 5; we provided the hostess with our cellphone number to text us when the table was ready. Due to the pandemic, they ask guests to sit outside or in their cars for social distancing purposes. We were sat in less than 20 minutes with an extraordinary waitress named Maddie. The experience we had at this location was overall amazing which gave us the confidence to say we will be coming back more often. Our waitress, Maddie, greeted us in less than a minute of being sat with a glowing personality. She was knowledgeable and referred us to the alcoholic drink menu for the 5 for $5 dollars. The bartender, Miranda, made our spiked strawberry lemonade and mojitos; the mojito was the best I had in a long time! We chose salads to go with our meals and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer to snack on while we waited. My sister decided to get soup and salad that night. She believed her Zuppa Toscana soup tasted bland as if it were not seasoned when it was prepared in the kitchen. She typically orders her soup for takeout and buys the half gallon size; she said, “It never tastes this bland when I order the half gallon. I am sadly disappointed”. My mother ordered the Shrimp Alfredo pasta entree, and she loved every bite she consumed. The Five Cheese Ziti I ordered was delicious. I took Maddie’s suggestion on adding grilled shrimp on top of the ziti, and she was right it was amazing! The food was overall good other than the Zuppa Toscana lacking taste. Since the pandemic started, we have been skeptical on dining out due to the pandemic and the incredibly high cases. I was informed at the front door they are going by new regulations on how to socially distance and be safe while dining out. I am more than happy to say this location did an excellent job on providing those CDC regulations. Apart of those regulations are that guests must wait outside or in your car because of the social distance guidelines. I believe it is necessary because it terminates overcrowding in the lobby and waiting areas. They also changed their dining rooms to fit the social distancing guidelines which I found to be extremely helpful. The tables are set up where they are 6 feet away from the other table. We were pleased to know that employees are required to wear masks and gloves when taking care of guests. Guests are not required to wear masks, but my family and I wore our masks to be safe and respectful to the employees. In summary, this location is a safe environment to eat and spend some time with your family at. We were told the wait will be about 30 minutes, and we received a text to be sat at our table after waiting 20 minutes. We chose to wait for our table outside in the summer breeze because of the new CDC socially distancing guidelines. Our waitress, Maddie’s knowledge on the menu was extraordinary. Miranda, the bartender, made our delicious Spiked Strawberry Lemonade and Mojitos that were to die for! My sister did find her Zuppa Toscana soup to be tasteless and needed a certain amount of seasoning. My mother enjoyed her Shrimp Alfredo pasta, and I loved the Five Cheese Ziti with the added grilled shrimp. During our visit, we found the entrees to be good other than the soup lacking seasoning which is why I left four stars instead of 5. If you want to enjoy good food at a safe location, the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, on Scenic Highway, Snellville is an outstanding...
Read moreWhat a nightmare. Showed up, requested a table, told roughly a 40 minute wait. We waited an hour before returning to the front desk to ask about how much longer....their response, "Oh....you didn't get a message?" Told her "No"....she seemed highly aggravated that she had to now do something about finding us a seat. Amazingly, one had been open for a bit, go figure. So, I chose to overlook that...but then here comes our server (after we had been sitting at the table for at least 15-20 minutes and one of our party had to go ask who our server was so we could get some water maybe) Needless to say he didn't seem to be too thrilled his job had him tied up on a Saturday. Very slow, seemed like he was trying to do just enough to make it until closing. When he brought my girl's Minestrone soup to the table over half of it was spilled on the plate under the bowl. I could go on and on about the hellish experience at this location but what's the point? It's what our new generation of "customer service" looks like. Better get used to it if you want to eat here. Pathetically unorganized and quite frankly made dinner an aggravation. Did I mention we showed up at 4:30 and finally left at almost 7:30...to get spaghetti? I honestly hate to leave bad reviews but....the attitude of young servers these days tends to get worse and worse and worse. Why and how do they make you feel like you are inconveniencing them when you order? And I usually tip well, more than 20% on average. We weren't high maintenance or demanding in the least. But they certainly tried to make us feel bad for walking in, ordering and wanting to eat at Olive Garden. Cured that notion for a long time to come at this point. Food was good though. I'm old school I guess by expecting some politeness and general social skills when I pay $20 for some noodles and sauce. Won't be back to this location anytime soon. When you have to ask twice about getting some breadsticks at Olive Garden, something is wrong. I've wasted enough time with this restaurant for today. Rant over. Take your chances if you...
Read moreMy recent experience at the local Olive Garden Restaurant left me feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated. I had called ahead to make a reservation for a party of 15 people, but unfortunately, the evening turned into an utter disaster.
Firstly, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were shocked to find that half of the establishment was closed off. This immediately raised concerns, as it seemed to indicate a lack of adequate seating for guests. Despite having called ahead and made a reservation, we were met with a poorly managed situation.
To make matters worse, we were kept waiting for over an hour before anyone even bothered to address our reservation. The staff seemed disorganized and oblivious to the inconvenience they were causing us and other waiting customers. There was no communication regarding the delay or any attempt to offer an explanation or solution.
As a result of the unacceptably long wait time and the obvious disarray, we decided to take our business elsewhere. It's incredibly disappointing when a restaurant, especially a well-known chain like Olive Garden, fails to deliver even basic customer service.
A reservation is intended to ensure a smooth dining experience, but this was anything but smooth. It's baffling that they would choose to close half of the restaurant without considering the potential impact on reservations and customer satisfaction.
Ultimately, our decision to dine elsewhere was a direct result of Olive Garden's poor management and lack of consideration for their customers. As someone who has enjoyed dining at Olive Garden in the past, this experience has left me with a sour taste in my mouth, and I am hesitant to return in the future.
I sincerely hope that Olive Garden takes customer feedback seriously and addresses these issues promptly. For now, I cannot recommend this location to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. I urge the management to prioritize their customers and work on improving their service to avoid disappointing others...
