Okay, I have been going to Elle Marie for a few yrs gone through a few of stylists. I was seeing Katie last and she has an Assistant working with her most of the time, licensed but a newbie. It seemed every appt. her asst. was coloring my hair and styling and last time trimmed my hair. I specifically asked for no red in the color please! What color was it? in the sun my hair looked like copper on fire!! the cut/trim was horrible. Here is the topper their fees are based on the tier of the stylist. So I was charged the highest tier 4 and getting services by the assistant, fair I say NOT AT ALL!! After about three times of this, reducing my tip each time, finally said no more. I was less and less satisfied each time. I would come in, she would kind of ask me what I wanted and the assistant would pretty much take over, while she took care of other patrons and it always seemed her mom came in at the same time of my appointments. I always felt that I was an inconvenience and was putting them out. Seriously, the last time she did my hair scheduled for a trim also, when I asked for a trim on my hair she did a horrible job it was like it was an inconvenience for her time - she would talk to me a bit, but as soon as she saw someone she knew or her next customer came in - she was gone. Literally, one time she went and sat in a chair next to another stylist and talked to her customer while I was sitting there totally ignored. Just always felt awkward and unwanted. The assistant would do her thing to my hair and run in their private break room. I was absolutely NOT going to go back, but I needed something done to my hair and my Husband gets his hair cut by Sarah, so I decided to try her, she was there a couple of times when I was there and it always seemed like she paid attention to her customers, and just be friendly. So, after canceling my last appointment with Katie- - - I decided I needed to get this mess and ugliness which was my hair corrected. I scheduled with Sarah my appointment was for 10:00, I arrived and it took her almost the entire day. I was not finished until almost 3:00! She was so kind, talking to me, focused on me as her customer she made me feel like I was actually wanted and appreciated as a customer. I will be going back, but it will ONLY be to see Sarah; and if Sarah goes elsewhere, I will be going elsewhere she will be my stylist - period. I think of all the money I paid for Katie to do my hair when an assistant was doing my hair; and it looked like a low level stylist did it. She had NO interest in my as a client, customer, and certainly did not care about what my hair looked like, it looked like garbage. Last time I went to her, I walked into my mom''s house and she said - "who did that to your hair?" "It looks horrible! I will pay for you to go and have it fixed, you cannot go around with that color in your hair, it looks like you tried to do it yourself and it came out poorly." So, if you do not want an Assistant doing your hair do not schedule any appointments with Katie. It was actually kind of ironic, as I was getting things finished up with Sarah, another customer in another chair told her stylist he daughter saw Katie and her hair was ruined, and she will not be back. I had to laugh to myself, at least I know it is NOT just me. Sad thing, if you have a level one stylist do someones hair, then don't charge them like a level 4 is doing it; this is not fair to patrons. I really feel ripped off, by Elle Marie and like I am owed a bit of $$$. I should be refunded for my last two services with Katie, at a minimum. The way i was treated and having an assistant do my hair. Sarah has the color right and actually cut and styled my hair! She listened to me; and treated me so kindly. (5+ stars! - THE BEST) Elle Marie, if Assistants do hair processes, stop charging customers level 4 stylist rates. I still feel ripped off and l do feel a refund is owed to me. (1 star - - - ) Thank you Sarah for fixing all the messes! I love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI sometimes struggle with going to new places so I will write my review geared towards someone who might be a bit anxious.
ā¢I made my appointment online without having to call anyone. They send a confirmation email but if you don't see it check your spam folder. That is where mine ended up. ā¢When I made my appointment online(not through the app) I chose a partial foil and then I also added a haircut to that. I selected any stylist and Summer was the first available so I went with it. ā¢The parking lot is pretty tiny with quite a few businesses. All the spots in front of the salon were taken and there wasn't any available spots in the center of the lot so I ended up parking in front of the bank. All of the spots in front of businesses say 30 minute parking so I was worried about that but I was there from 11am to 3pm on a Monday and nothing happened so idk how enforced it is. ā¢Check in is easy. Just give your name and then have a seat. ā¢I showed Summer the style and hair color I was hoping for and told her I wanted something similar. She was honest and told me she couldn't promise the exact shade of blonde in the picture. I honestly think it came out better than the picture. ā¢I am God awful at small talk. Especially with someone I've just met. Summer didn't make me feel awkward about it. Her station is right next to the window so you have somewhere you can look as long as you are facing that direction.
Summer did a great job making me feel comfortable and she did an amazing job on my hair. I haven't gone to get my hair done since just before the pandemic and it was definitely in a "meh" state and usually in a ponytail. I chopped it to my chin and added light blonde highlights and it's a week later and I'm still looking in the mirror.
I asked Summer for shampoo recommendations and she was very knowledgeable about a lot of products. I ended up getting a Pureology combo set I really enjoy.
I'm in my late twenties and I think my haircut/color is cute and trendy
I have my next appointment booked with Summer and I plan to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is an absolute mess. My daughter went in with a picture of color she wanted - dark brunette. We went here because we know a former stylist who worked there and so we're aware of their grueling hiring process. We thought we'd get what we asked for. Went to the Woodinville location first, where the Level 3 stylist mixed levels 3 and 4 and gave my daughter Hershey chocolate hair. Not even close to what she asked for. As soon as we left, we stopped at the "Mothership" location in Mill Creek on the way home for help. We were scheduled for color correction the next day in Snohomish. The Level 4 stylist there took her a shade darker - still not what she asked for. At this point the stylist said "you should just go black" and put level 1B on her head. I walked out of the salon that morning with Morticia Addams next to me. Apparently Elle Marie is incapable of achieving dark brunette. My daughter acted like she liked it, as 3 dyes in less than 24 hours had her a bit traumatized. I don't know what we're going to do now, as black is so hard to remove and my daughter didn't get the hair she wanted so much. Choosing Elle Marie has cost us quite a bit. Speaking of cost, I'd like Becky H, Lorry or Colleen to answer this. Why were we charged $145 for an all-over color with a Level 3 stylist? This included $100 for the color, extra for an extra bowl, and $25 for a "gloss" the STYLIST chose to apply while my daughter was still in the shampoo bowl because the STYLIST saw and realized the color was too light? These issues were discussed with Asher in Mill Creek when scheduling the 2nd appointment, and they agreed the charges were excessive and they couldn't make sense of them. I demand at least a partial refund. Bottom line, this place over charges and doesn't deliver. Bad form, bad service, horrible for their brand......
