Geek Fortress — Local services in Snohomish

The workers here make me feel oddly alienated and like I'm a burden. I came in to buy some singles, and the worker behaved like they did not want to help me AT ALL. At one point, he asked another worker if he wanted to do my trade. The other replied, "No...why, want some help?" And the guy helping me said, "No... I'll tell you about it later." Right in front of me. It came off like I was being an asshole. I bought over $300 worth of cards and traded in like 9 cards for store credit. I got the vibe in a mostly pokemon store that these people hated pokemon. Or disliked me, I have no idea. The whole time, I just felt awkward and that I was bothering them. I've come here twice and haven't gotten good vibes, won't come again.

Oh, and the way they handled the cards I bought made me wince. They put them on the counter with a thwip like they were dealing...

This place is cool. It's got Friendly helpful staff, plenty of table space to play, and good prices.

You've got all your standard card shop stuff: MTG / Pokemon / Bandai, etc. As well as a good assortment of card accessories like deck boxes and binders. They're trade-in credit is definitely fair and higher than most places in the area but it also varies by game. Digimon is only 40% but that is still higher than most places lol.

They also do Warhammer and have a small amount of gunpla / figures. It's within walking distance of multiple restaurants and Safeway but they also sell limited snacks and drinks themselves.

Parking is fine. There's plenty of it even if the actual setup of the parking lot is a little more odd.

I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area. More than once have I popped in and found something you don't normally...

I came in the other day and purchased a few cards. I ended up having an issue with one of the cards and I came back in the next day and talked with the same guy I had purchased the card from (who I assume is the owner). We were able to get things figured out no problem and I couldn’t help leaving a great review for this place and said owner. He was super straight up with me and was totally understanding of the issue and was more than happy to help me with it. He’s a genuine guy and a great shop owner (again assuming he’s the owner) and I can’t recommend this place enough. For locals looking for a new LGS or out of towners like myself just looking for a place to play some MTG, this is the place to go and I’ll for sure be coming back any chance I get.
