Just wasted an hour of my day trying to buy a ton of plants at Ricky's Flower Market in Union Sq., only to return home hot, angry, and empty handed. After suffering through the 15MPH Procession of the Mouthbreathers down Somerville Ave, I got to Ricky's, only to find that there is no parking anywhere. Since their lot is ity-bity, there's not even a place to live park while you sit and wait for a spot to open up (no on-street parking to be found anywhere nearby). It looks like there might be an auxiliary parking lot right next door, but I couldn't tell because it was blocked by a huge truck. This was at 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon. I can't even imagine what it's like on a Saturday. NEVER AGAIN.

I'm sure that there's some holier-than-though elitist cycling fanatic Somerville hipsters reading this and smugly smiling to themselves, thinking "Serves you right for bringing your evil, archaic automobile into our urban utopia." Look, kiddies, I love my bike, too, but I've yet to figure out how to transport 8 flats of seedlings and 80 pounds of topsoil with it.

Tomorrow, I will venture out to Mahoney's. Their clientele are annoying as hell, but at least they recognize that if you're going to drop close to $200 on plants and soil, you're going to need a vehicle to...

This thoroughly indescribably wonderland of fantastically varied and beautiful fauna is an absolute dream! It is so much bigger than it seems from the outside, and you could easily spend a few hours wandering through and admiring the vast array of plants, pots, and just about any supply you could need to take care of your green family members! From herbs to fruit trees, succulents to flowers, and so many things in between, their selection -and customer service- is top notch. I'm so glad I stopped in after biking by so many times and can easily say that this is the best garden center I have ever been to. I really can't...
