Target is not your all in one dept. store. It offers a limited amount of products within each dept. There is pretty much a standard in the retailer industry, where as, the big department stores only stock what consumers generally buy more often.
If you need an item thatās out of the ordinary, none of the big retailers will carry it. Target, Walmart and others all play the same market.
When I was little, were talking 50 & 60ās...I can remember going to Jordon Marsh (Macyās) My Mother shopped their a lot and my father would go to Sears & robuck, because in those days those retailers stocked whatever you needed.
Today the Manufacturers & retailers lead the consumer by the nose in whatever direction they want.
In years past when you went into a store to buy something and if it wasnāt on the shelf, the employee in the isle could check the back room, today a lot of dept. stores only stock items out on the floor on the shelves. So, if itās not on the shelf you need to go to another store or competitor and now youāre being inconvenienced.....Storing things in the back room is tying up all those Nichols and dimes Which is more important to them..... and all retailers think that way.
There are very very few businesses today that actually practice quality customer service.
So when you happen to do business with one, stay loyal to them because they are rare.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst target experience Iāve ever had hands down. I was planning a day of errands so to save time I placed an order for drive-up pick-up (which means Iām charged right when the order is placed). Yet 4 hours later I still hadnāt gotten a notification that it was ready⦠I was running out of time for my errands and thought it might be a glitch so I just went into the store where a customer service rep, while very kind, said she couldnāt help me? Iād have to come back in a few hours? No thanks⦠I asked if I could just go get the items myself, and she said yes, so I did just that. Then when I went back to validate my items before waking out of the store, she told me Iād have to cancel my order and then charged me again. So⦠because your store was slow to get my items, I have to pay AGAIN and wait for the other money to go back on my card ⦠Why could she not pretend that a target employee got the items and fulfilled my order? Iām sure it wasnāt her policy which is why I walked right out to my car to write this horrible review. Target, I have 2 closing remarks, 1. Donāt promise something you canāt deliver. 2. If a customer solves their own problem that you caused, maybe you should let them. This whole experience has left a horrible taste in my mouth and I will be avoiding your stores for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter a gratuitously unfriendly interaction with management, I read with newly-opened eyes the reviews from customers saying they had had harassing encounters here. To those people, I deeply regret I did not properly credit you on my first reading. A lot of the cashiers are lovely people. For that reason alone, I did not bother with the survey on my receipt: the survey affects the cashiers in the first instance and then it seems to go the same managers who would ignore it and whose horrible approach makes me recommend other places nearby. Twin Cities Star Market is really well run in the face of identical challenges with better food choices, and the Cambridge Street CVS is clean and well-stocked. In both cases, you'd want to download the app so you're not paying full retail. If you have a car, the Gateway Target has more professional customer service, but I realize getting to Gateway is a zoo. Overall, I have to guess that if the neighborhood improves, the landlord just sells this place right out from under the Target, and, if corporate Target continues to have issues, this place is the first dead branch they lop...
