Turtle Island — Local services in South Padre Island

WARNING. WARNING. WARNING. This happened on 7-24-2022. Do not go to this place! I now you might have plenty of money to spend but please take you business elsewhere. The lady at the front desk WILL overcharge you without you noticing it! I know you will feel rushed when there is a long line of customers behind you but please watch her every move. She is fast with that digital cash register. We were overcharged for eight items when we only had seven items. Watch out for those two-for-twentyseven or two-for-twenty sales! Don't be lured by the brightly lit building or clothing at high prices but poor quality. It would be best to add everything up yourself before you go to the register. Not going to lie. They have a lot of variety when it comes to stuff you can buy. Hats, hermit crabs, t shirts , bathing suits, all the souvenirs you can imagine, and more. Pretty big, so I’m guessing they’re a bit short staffed? I don’t know, but my family and I wandered around for like ten minutes until someone finally decided to appear and help us out. We wanted to rent a golf cart to ride around the island, but they didn’t let us because I didn’t have my physical identification with me. I love the gigantic sea turtle they have at the entrance. TERRIBLE. We were excited to see the new building and the huge turtle. However, the manager, a Hispanic women in early 40s made our visit uncomfortable. She was behind the register disrespectfully yelling and a young employee (about 16year old). She was out of line and embarrassing the poor girl Infront of all the customers. My wife and I could hear her from the back of the store. The girl was tearing up as the manager bullied her, me and the other guests looked at each other in disgusts. Will not be coming back or recommending. I hope the owners look into this issue. No employee deserves to be harassed by management especially not publicly infront...
