As a women who has never had a surgery. Then such a serious one. With all the complications I've gone threw. I was actually looked dead eyes by the Dr stated well you only have one more week of agony left. Discharged with nothing for the stabbing abdominal pain. Yes antibiotics but left me to wither in abdominal pain. At 1st I was relieved to see the same Dr. Now I see clearly. The nurses have more compassion than the Dr. With a God complex. Thank you lesson learned. You don't want to see me. You won't. Yes he helped me once. But by law he failed me tonight. To cause the patient no pain or further pain. Stated well you only have one more week of suffering. I'm 48 years old. If my phychatrist hadn't made me promise him I'd go there. For women I say don't go to Pasadena hospital. Dr's how have the God like complex are what makes Pinellas county Fl the arm pit of America for us women. People like him take the care out of health care. My favorite thing is to learn something new. A lovely nurse brought me my wallet I had accidentally left in the room. And explained and taught me so much. God bless the nurses get 10 plus infinity stars. The Dr negative infinity. As a patient advocate for 5 years & 5 months. I learned to much. So it's my fault that the surgeon won't see me till 30th. And I'm supposed to just suffer according to the God complex Dr. I'll make sure my disability attorney hears about this visit. I appreciate those that did their job amazing staff. Unfortunately in Pinellas county Fl by a nurse I was told 1 out of 4 Dr's do this. Knowledge is power. The president may want to have a serious meeting with this individual. Don't worry if I landed on your roof by helicopter I'd rather fly anywhere else. Even Saint Agonys didn't treat me with God like complex. Just medical malpractice. Discharged with internal bleeding. I love to learn something new Everyday of my life. Know no one can tell me it is not true. Because I witnessed & went thru what I went thru. How could you assist me once. But straight up look me in my teary-eyed self to say you only have one more week of agony. A disabled American should not be treated so badly. I didn't make the sinkhole that destroyed my body. Lesson learned much love to the nurses. Sorry you will never see me again. I appreciate those that did their job. I'm not interested in suing. Not worth my time. I can say Karma doesn't take 3 years sometimes 3 seconds. What we humans put out to our universe comes back. I've left this to God But would be wrong for not letting women aware. Knowledge is power. A sad night for what Pinellas arm pit calls health care. Don't worry not all money is good money. I see not all Dr's are goodDr's. Thank you for this valuable lesson. I love to learn something new everyday.. God bless the caring nurses Once bitten twice shy. And a special thanks to the...
Read moreWe will never visit this hospital again. My husband went to the ER because it was across the street from his PCP. While in the ER, they never asked him simple questions about his pain level etc nor did they seem to communicate with each other. They did not give him the call button but got upset when he literally had to call out for help.
Once he was admitted, this only got worse. The nurses were rude, condescending, and again never asked how he was feeling or if he was in any pain. It wasn't until he saw the hospital doctor, that he was asked about his pain.
The hospital doesn't seem to have any doctors who work there during the day. My husband was never seen by the gastroenterologist until after 6pm (including a test that was supposed to be done between 11-1 but didn't happen until 6pm. The doc claimed it was because the hospital didn't have a nurse for him to do the procedure). Due to the COVID visiting policy, a person can only stay till 4 pm. What good is that when the doctors don't come in till well after that time.
Nurses were slow to answer pages and less than thrilled when they did. The nurse who checked his vitals during the day walked around with a bluetooth in her ear blasting music that I could even hear.
After dealing with terrible nurses and late doctors, I had it. I asked to speak to the charge nurse. The Charge Nurse, Janette, came in and was the first to seem genuinely concerned about our situation and what was going on. We explained everything to her. She was appalled by the treatment we had received. She also asked my husband to wear socks when walking the hall. He explained they never gave him any to wear nor did they mention it. This also shocked her.
She immediately went to get him socks and then brought Nurse Fallon in to talk about our situation and explained what had been happening. Thankfully, it was worked out that I could stay late enough to meet with the doctors. We also asked for a case worker, but she never came.
As far as the visiting hours, the only thing in writing (both on the website and when you enter) is one visitor from 10-4, must wear masks, no cafeteria. 50% of the time, we were told I could come and go, the other half said no leaving (nor eating or drinking). In speaking to Janette, she confirmed that once you leave you cannot come. My husband voiced his concern that I am his only advocate and when he is in pain or unable to talk, he wants me here. With a doctor who only comes after visiting hours, this makes it impossible.
Not allowing one person to come and go one time so they can eat or drink something during the visiting hours is ridiculous especially when doctors aren't going to see patients when their advocates can be there.
It seems as though this hospital is way behind on quality patient care that can be done efficiently and...
Read moreI was taken to Palms by Ambulance for a severe allergic reaction. From the moment I got to the ER, the staff were waiting for me and quickly went into action. The entire staff, not just a few of them. They were very great and took time to make sure that I was stabilized. As soon as they were sure that the worst was over, I was moved to the ICU. When I got there, once again, they were waiting to take care of me. Doctors Tyagi, Internalist and Canales Hospitalist, Registered Nurses Cressida, Amy and several others quickly jumped into action to ensure that I was hooked up to all of the monitoring equipment and settled in. They spoke to me like a person and not just "another patient". They took great care of me. The rest of my stay was the same, GREAT! The Nurses that took care of me truly were wonderful, all of them. They all worked as a team. Each one of them came into my room to check on me. Registered Nurses Terry and Alex took over and ensured I was comfortable. In the morning, Ginny took over care and was equally as great as all of the others. During the evening after I was stabilized, I was given a menu to order breakfast. I called the number on the back and a very polite man answered. As I asked him about ordering, he very politely let me know that I had called his personal number. Turns out he is the. Director of Food and Nutritional Services for the entire Hospital, David Hendricks. I apologized for disturbing him at home. He said, no need to apologize apologize, I'm available all hours. He then let me know that I could call down to the kitchen in the morning and they would take my order. The Respiratory Therapist, John, came to my room to check on me and make sure that my CPAP was set up correctly as well. My stay was beyond EXCELLENT and I wish I could have gotten everyone's names to be able to thank them all properly. They all get a big thank you...
