I wish I could have given this doctor a 5 star review, as I've been dealing with a lump in my neck for the last 2 decades that doctors are not taking seriously, and was hoping finally to see a doctor that might actually take me seriously, but nope, it's again the same answer. "It's your mastoid process" or "it's probably a lymph node..." I'm not an idiot, I know exactly where my mastoid process is, the lump is between that and my jaw. I can put my two fingers around it and know it's not bone. It's moveable and flexible. And the doctors always want me to "look forward" when trying to feel this lump which you won't be able to feel very well if I'm looking forward.
Both my mom and my Aunt had lipomas in their neck and head area. My Aunt had hers removed and unfortunately my mom couldn't because it was too close to the brain for it to be worth taking out. I'm pretty sure that's what it is, because it started out as a small eraser sized lump right on my mastoid process behind my ear and has only grown in size over the years. I had severe pain in the area for years.
The closest answer I got was seeing a prolotherapy doctor last year and they did indeed find out something was cutting the circulation off in that vein behind this lump from ultrasound and CT venogram testing, which was causing dizziness, motion sickness, and near fainting spells, as well as involuntary muscle spasms that I had started experiencing the year before, depending on how my neck was positioned. Unfortunately that doctor was not a surgeon and couldn't do anything about the lump itself.
Dr. Prebish did a quick examination on me, said it was my mastoid process and then told me there was nothing he could do for me. Not even giving me time to explain the history of my issue and not even asking what has already been done. All I wanted was to get it biopsied which is why my GP sent me there. Fortunately he gave me a referral for a vein specialist, but I'm pretty sure the vein itself is not the problem, so not sure what that doctor will do...
It's just extremely frustrating being constantly dismissed, which seems to be mainly coming from white...

Read moreI have negative feelings toward the medical "corporate" industry as a whole. So understand my review of Dr. Prebish may possibly hold a bit more credibility than those who are "medical junkies." Truly being "Not a Doctor type of guy," I must share with you that fact that Dr. Prebish is like a "Not a Doctor type of Doctor." I was suffering with two hernias, one umbilical and the other inguinal. On the first visit, Dr. Prebish proved to be totally "down to earth," completely professional, respectful, and honest regarding my situation, explaining my options, and the complications that may occur from hernia repair surgeries. He took an amazing amount of time with me, patiently answering my questions and addressing my concerns. And we even shared a few good laughs along the way! The hernia repair operation at Pasadena Hospital went extremely well. I had absolutely NO PAIN after the operation. Dr. Prebish visited me before surgery, and again, I felt the total confidence and trust in him that I felt during our first appointment. Dr. Prebish also has a wonderful office and nursing staff! You can truly trust...
