So this place is not accessible for people with disabilities. I'm hard of hearing and rely on closed captions and listening devices and I've been there two times and neither time the caption or the listening devices work. I'm glad they have open captions movies on Tuesdays, but not every person that has hearing loss is free on Tuesdays and sometimes they want to see a movie with their friends on Saturday night. I went on like a night that wasn't Tuesday and while they had the listening device and caption devices, neither were working. The staff member seems to have no knowledge about this and should be better trained in ADA compliance and while I appreciate the manager trying to fix the problem, he should've given me a free ticket to come back and refund my popcorn and soda. It's always rude when movie theaters don't refund my snacks and drinks as if I was only there to get food. Also he mentioned open caption Tuesdays, however what other minority group has a special day just for them??? We wouldn't tell a person of color or an LGBTQA person that they're only welcomed one day of the week and yet people with disabilities are only welcomed on Tuesdays and that's hearing loss folks. Blind people rely on audio description which can be heard from the assisted listening devices, but if they don't work, someone who is blind can't have equal access to the movie. This movie theater has violated the ADA so many times, back in the eighties it was not wheelchair accessible and had to go to court, 2015 they didn't have assisted listening devices or caption devices, and yet here we are still dealing with a lack of equal access to the movies 35 years after the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This company needs an ADA Coordinator like 35 years ago. I do appreciate going to see Lilo and Stitch on open caption tuesdays, but other disabilities are being forgotten and sometimes I want to see a movie with family and friends and their only free night may be the weekend, so it's important to have those...
Read moreI haven't been since their reopen - but I think their general customer service is concerning. I went today to buy a gift card. They weren't open yet, which is okay. I called to see what time they opened and he said "2 minutes", so I waited and whet in when he unlocked the door. I proceeded to stand there for at least 5 minutes, the only one in the building, while they did opening duties and did not acknowledge me. Understandable you just opened, but why unlock the door if you are not ready to take customers? I did not want to give just the gift card, so I thought it would but cute to put it in an empty popcorn bucket with some candy. I asked if they had an empty (cardboard, not the nice ones) bucket I could have, or even a paper popcorn bag. They said no because of inventory costs. I said okay, could you ring me in for something inexpensive to cover the 5 cents of the bag? Again, no because this matter "was above the manager and he couldn't do it even if he wanted to". He would only give it to me if I paid for it as if it were full of popcorn. I understand corporate places are a little weird about stuff, but I was taken aback. I understand they do not care if I (as an individual) ever come there, as me alone will not affect their business, but I was going to buy a $50 gift card and they wouldn't part with a paper bag. I bought my gift card in...
Read moreSo very excited that this place has opened back up since it's the closest theater to our house and losing the location was a huge blow to us! The $10 pricing for all shows, any time is a great deal and the seats are just as comfy as I remember them. The theater is clean, screens are big, and the sound is good. Great place to go for a date or to bring your family. I would love it if they get a couple self-service kiosks but at the moment the lobby isn't busy enough to need them.
Edit: My initial review was only four stars as they were experiencing some start-up pains but they are steadily smoothing things out so I'm upgrading them to five stars where they belong. Great theater, friendly staff, have spoken to the manager (and his adorable dog) on several occasions and we love going here.
Still have my fingers crossed for the self-help kiosks!
If you're getting popcorn or other foods there you can ask for a tray. They aren't built into the seats but they have removable ones available at the front...
