I really was excited about cuddles cat lounge when I first heard about them. Me and my girlfriend went in a few times to really make sure we were ready for a life long commitment. We decided on frost, who was the meanest cat there and had been for months, because we knew he needed the most love. When we first fostered him he had ringworm which was told to us that humans could not get it from cats. I took him back on a Friday night and the next day they said he was cleared and ready for adoption. After 6 months of having him his scales became worse and he was ripping his hair out. Also everyone in the home began to get spots. We took him to a vet where they confirmed that he had ring work, ear mites, and decaying teeth. The treatment was $900.00 which we could not afford. We went back to cuddles cat lounge for help and I was told originally they would help treat him. After leaving him for a week in a small cage where he was unable to move after many attempts to get updates from the cuddles lounge team I was told he could not be treated unless we unadopted him. We took him home to think about it for two weeks then decided his health was the most important thing. After dropping him off in August I was told I could come visit him at any time because he isnāt the nicest cat but is the biggest sweetheart once he warms up to you. After three months of literally zero communication for the cuddles team and many of my own attempts to visit him where I was often told I could not see him. I was always told that a manager would be reaching out with updates, which I did not receive a single contact. One day on my attempts to visit him they stated āhe is actually good to go today and he doesnāt have ringworm, it's just a food allergy.ā Which was simply not true after we paid $300.00 in tests to confirm it. We have all gone to see a doctor and now on top of vet bills we have paid our own medical bills to treat this.
He has been home for around two months and the scales have become much worse and every single person that has come to the house leaves later to complain about getting ringworm. This review is my last resort, I feel like frost was never given genuine medical care and never visited a vet. I am now left with the difficult decision and do not have the extra finances to pay for his medical treatment. I understand that you take care of a lot of cats and others may have a different story. But you allowed me to take a cat TWICE saying he was healthy and if we have to put him down I will not be interested in having a pet for a long time. Because I do truly love frost and seeing your animal friend in pain is extremely sad to be a part of.
UPDATE: On 1/09/23 I am sad to say Appa (Frost) was put down due to his...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI LOVE Cuddles Cat Lounge (it's named after Bailie, the owner's, kitty)! Fun fact: there's a mural of Cuddles painted on the back wall when you walk in.
The first cat lounge I ever stumbled upon was in Portland, Oregon, and I thought, "What a fantastic idea!" because they rescue cats otherwise stuck at a shelter and are likely going to be euthanized. Plus it allows cats some much needed space (over a cage) and socialization with humans before being adopted. I am a huge animal lover, so cat lounges are godsends.
My kitty is no longer with us, so I decided to go have some play time with the local cats when I found Cuddles online. I didn't have an appointment because I was running errands around town, but luckily I was able to walk-in on a Monday afternoon. I was greeted by Bailie and found out after chatting for awhile that she is a pretty amazing, driven, inspiring person. She gave me a tour of the place and introduced me to the kitties they have right now.
The space is super open and clean -- it's like a big living room with couches, cool decor and cat hammocks. Cat toys, brushes and FREE treats are offered if you choose to use them. I totally forgot as I just went around to spread some love to all the felines in the house. They had great personalities and made me laugh. They're super cute around nap time!
FYI -- no coffee is served here YET, but maybe in the future. There's a kitten room they just built and are getting ready to use for spring. They've only been open three months so far, but I found out they've already held cool events like cat yoga and movie night! They also hold vaccine clinics and allow volunteers to help out with the lounge. I'm actually going back tomorrow to drop off some blankets and towels and will be volunteering in the future. Loved Bailie, the lounge and all the kitties! Support this local non-profit for all the great...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlace was actually really nice, owner seemed to care and place was enjoyable for the first 30 mins. There is only one door to the outside which is a problem since we had a cat almost ran out when we got there. All cats are nice and affectionate. When other people showed with a bunch of toddlers is when it became a nightmare. None of the kids had masks and staff didn't care. These kids were hurting the cats and none of the staff took control of the situation. No one was social distancing and didn't respect your space, and the children were hitting the cats because the parents we more busy tearing cats from hiding places and staff socializing than doing their job. Just to give perspective on the unruly situation, a cat that was rescued from a hoarding house was being torn from his rest spot by a five year old, no supervision. A customer shouldn't have to do the job of staff and tell kids to be gentle. This cat was nice and so cuddly, but was as thin as a twig and as fragile as your mothers China. You could feel every bone in his body. He needed very gentle care and he was treated like a toy. Get control of your customers, because the cats well being should be more important than the customers entertainment. At least have rules that are actually enforced for a better cat and...
