7even Skis — Local services in South Salt Lake

This is probably the best ski shop I've ever been in. It is not supposed to be a strong retail store, and that is just fine. Connor greeted me pleasantly, quickly, and intelligently. He took care of my ski service needs right away. Todd took a moment to chat with me and ordered up some difficult to get ski equipment. Seven Skis does not waste time with floor space dedicated to retail. Instead, they focus on expert service, taking care of people's ski needs.

Their machinery looked clean and well cared for. The to-do list looked very organized. Everything appeared to have a specific place.

When I asked about their custom skis, they welcomed me to look at all of their interesting stuff. They even told me that they source their veneers from a local hardwood store. Custom skis can be truly custom, and one local shop supporting another local shop is super cool.

I typically go to REI to get my skis tuned, but this year they had a 2 week turnaround time. I looked all over the web for local ski shops and decided to take my gear to 7even skis after chatting with the owner over the phone (his name is Todd and he's a cool guy). I had bindings re-mounted on two sets of skis and a basic tune done on another. I was able to get everything back the next day. I brought a friend back who had a snowboard that needed base repair/wax/sharpened edges and they were able to get the board back to us in just a couple of hours. The board didn't look so hot when it went in and came out looking like a million bucks. The prices on tuning are great, the owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, the turnaround times are fast, and the work they do is some of the best I've seen. I seriously have no plans of going back to REI for tuning or repair...

What a find! I found myself in Salt Lake at the beginning of a planned month of chasing powder with a pair of skis that I had freshly tuned, by my home shop back east prior to leaving, that the shop had obviously messed up. After struggling with them on day one, I decided to look for someone to straighten them out. I found 7even Skis in an internet search and after reading about them decided to give them a try. The owner Todd, looked at the skis and determined what the problem was. He immediately adjusted the tune while I waited and I was on my way in no time. Todd is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I have been skiing over 60 years and this was by far the best experience I have ever had...
