We have been coming to this place for years. A few months ago we came in and asked if we could bring in our flavor of coffee creamer to use in our morning coffee. We was told yes we could. Multiple waitress on different times we went there said since they don't have any other flavors than vanilla it's ok. We have never been questioned anytime going there. A gentleman that took our order one time said he did the same thing as us he brings his coffee creamer to other places. Besides our family going to Delice we also go to Jim's, Dees Olympian restaurants for Breakfast or lunch we do bring in our own coffee creamer never have we been told no. We also see others doing the Same thing. This past Saturday we came in to celebrate a Birthday. My mother wanted to go down to Delice like she has for the past 4 Birthdays. Me and my wife came in before they arrived since we had 8 people that was going to eat. So we came in and told the lady we had a party of 8 coming and it's was my mom's Birthday. She said great let's get you a table she took us back to a table. A few seconds a lady asked us if we wanted a drink we said yes can we please get 2 iced coffees they have the best and always order them. She said do you need cream we said no we have our own. She brought out 2 coffee's and we started to pour in our creamer before I could stir it in my mom called my phone and said they was 5 minutes away. During my call a lady with red lipstick came over to our table and started to say we can't bring in our creamer anymore because it would make the other customers upset. We told her our family did it all the time and this was not the first time we came in with it. She told us to put it into a small unmarked container then. My mom was still on the phone during her saying this to us very rude. She walked away my mom said wow who was that she was not nice. I told her I had no idea maybe a manager she said she was about to pull in now. The same lady then came back for round 2 with us she said where is your party at ? you have empty chairs. I explained they are about to pull in. She said very rude we shouldn't have gave you a seat until they came in with you. I said do you want us to leave ? I said you have not been nice to me and my wife. She then said you are on camera right there see that camera it's watching you. I then got up and said we are leaving we did not even drink our drinks or nothing. My mom and the others was pulling in and starting to come in and I told her what all happened she was very upset how we was treated especially celebrating a Birthday at there restaurant. We did not have to choose them but we did. Doing this to customers will make them loose business. We did go to another restaurant close by with our coffee creamer and was treated with respect. They made our morning so much better and even made my mom's Birthday better after we told them what happened. We will never go back to Delice how we was treated. If this person keeps treating customers like she did to us they will go out of business it shows on others Google reviews they also had bad service. I have told multiple people what has happened and same with my other family members and told them to stay clear of Delice. We will keep...
Read moreSERVICE FEE??!!!
I don’t leave bad reviews as the places don’t deserve to waste my time on it but this time I’ll do it so people is aware of the SERVICE FEE!.
First of all, the food is decent, expensive for the location and service as been in Paris recently the pricing is cheaper there than at this place.
Even with that we go to eat at this place often.
We were waiting to be seated, we explained to the server before we went to the table we’ll be ordering at the counter and would like to eat at the table, she said there was no problem, after seating, another server came and gave us the menu, we did explain the same thing to her and she said ok.
She brought the menus, silverware and water and we were confused as part of our party was already ordering their pastries at the counter.l but we didn’t think too much about it.
The server then asked what we’ll be ordering and for a third time we explain we were ordering at the counter and she left, I think she didn’t understand as maybe it was a language barrier or she got upset.
Then Sindy came and explained we needed to paid a service fee, I asked right away to talk to the manager to explain us what was that fee and she replied she was the manager. She needs to get training on customer service.
I asked what was a SERVICE FEE, if the fee was for the silverware and water we needed to know so we were aware how much was that and she said THE SERVICE FEE WAS THE TIP FOR THE SERVER.
I see if this restaurant don’t pay to the server a decent salary so they need to rely on the tips to make a living but as far as I know the tips are optional depending on service, am I wrong?
I said to Sindy that she needed to explain herself better since the beginning that we needed to pay a tip to the server and to use the table even though we were already paying for our items at the counter. This place had several empty tables so we didn’t see the issue sitting to eat our pastries.
We never saw the server again and as you can see on the picture we had to use the napkins as plates to eat our food, that tell you want kind of management it’s at this place not caring even they knew we had to pay the SERVICE FEE.
Between all our party we spent over $100 and we left the tip but after all this our food tasted not that good for this inconvenience that was created and the confusion and feeling we encounter before we started to eat.
BE AWARE OF THE SEVICE FEE only at this...
Read moreI've been here once before, and I liked it then. This time, however, really let me down.
I started with the caprese sandwich with chips. It was quite good, but the sandwich would not stay together and was a bit soggy. I was effectively grabbing a handful of dripping sandwich ingredients in a pile because the bread was in pieces and dissolving.
I then got a Milles Feuilles and a Hazelnut Latte.
The Milles Feuilles was a disaster. It was very sweet, first of all. There was no balance to the flavors, so it was just sweet white chocolate top on sweet cream and puff pastry with the flavors fighting for most prominent. The layers for the pastry seemed kind of smashed together, not distinct and delicate as I thought they should be. I also noticed something black in the cream, and upon digging it out, discovered a bug immersed in the pastry. Bad enough that it was so sweet I didn't even want it, the bug guaranteed I didn't try to finish it.
The latte, I asked first if they had hazelnut flavoring, and they told me they did. When I got the latte, I couldn't taste the hazelnut, but didn't say anything because I was thinking maybe it just wasn't a very strong syrup. However, when charged, I saw that I was being charged extra for almond milk instead. While I am not opposed to almond milk, it isn't what I asked for. I just paid it because I was already so done by that time.
The serving staff was kind and attentive. Both the at-table servers and the pastry counter servers seemed invested in my experience. They were very apologetic about the bug, which is really the only thing I brought directly to them. I think they would have fixed the coffee if...
