The company that I work for contracts their office equipment through Les Olson and I was put in charge of managing the account. Overall it has been a positive experience. I only had one major negative experience with the company, and it was in relation with the installation crew.
We had to switch out our main copy machine for an upgraded model earlier this summer. As part of the process we needed the pdf documents saved on the hard drive transferred over from the old machine to the new one. The installation crew was saying that I needed to print out and manually re-scan all of the documents into the new copy machine. I had to pressure them to correctly transfer the documents from the old machine to the new machine. They called their headquarters and someone at the other end of the line was able to talk them through the process of transferring the files over the network to the new machine. The new machine was turned on and everything was good to go, or so we thought.
A couple of days later the new machine broke down, refusing to print anything. Turned out to be a mechanical failure in the black toner delivery mechanism. The service technician was able to identify this problem and come up with a way to make the new machine work. We were given a machine that shouldn't have left their warehouse in the first place, so the service technician scheduled a replacement machine to come out as soon as possible.
We received a replacement machine a few days later. The installation crew who installed the second new machine was more quick to transfer the scanned documents over to the new machine. They followed up with me to make sure that I was satisfied with the experience and the services provided.
The service technician crew also followed up with me after the replacement machine was installed to make sure that it was working properly. I was impressed by this.
Despite the issues I experienced, I still recommend this company and their services. They were quick to correct issues and their customer service representatives were attentive and understanding of our problems.
Their service technician crew is competent and knowledgeable and was able to address all of my concerns and issues. They know how to take apart a copy machine and to troubleshoot a break-down. They deserve a raise for the hard work they do and the knowledge they possess.
It is one thing for a company to just fix an issue when something goes wrong, it's another thing entirely to admit wrong-doing and then to go out of their way to make it right again. Read moreI question all the 5-star reviews on here. While the company has been responsive, they look for ways to charge extra every possible opportunity. I bought a Macintosh, and they tried to charge me extra. Why would a Macintosh be extra? My documents are coming out with large artifacts on them (boxes and birds, strange shapes making the documents unusable) and they're trying to charge me extra again. It's their printer not working. Why should we have to pay them to get their printer to work? We get charged for color copies when we should be getting charged for black and white. So we end up paying 5x as much to print as we should have to pay. We have struggled to get our Les Olsen printer to work for the last four years. When I tell them the sales person promised this or that, they say they don't have to honor his promises because he no longer works there. What company says that? If we told our customers that we didn't have to honor what our sales person promised, we wouldn't have any customers! Their salesmen take the time to listen to you and find out what you really need, their pricing structure is competitive, and their technicians are outstanding. Any time we've needed a repair or a new toner cartridge, we've been helped the very same day! Although their sales and service are top-shelf, they run circles around their competition when it comes to training! Steve Huston (their dedicated trainer) has raised the bar. I have his phone number on speed dial for any and all of my questions about our equipment. I've called him after business hours and even on the weekend and he's ALWAYS willing to drop whatever he's doing and help me out, day or night. He has one of those "best friend" personalities and makes our entire staff comfortable. Les Olson Company is a great company, but it's the people that work there that keep us coming back.
