Hobby Lobby has something to offer everyone - whether you enjoy crafting, craft as a business or do not craft at all. This place has so many interesting items that I could spend 6 to 8 hours looking around and still have things that I haven't seen.
Crafting items - they offer every item a crafter could need from faux floral pieces to paint, brushes, canvases, easels and stencils to fabrics of many colors, textures, prints and varieties to yarn as far as the eye can see with crochet hook, knitting needles and everything a sewer could need to a multitude of wood, foam, plastic, metal and fabric pieces and accessories. If you need it for a craft project, 99% of the time, they will have it.
Non-crafting items - Hobby Lobby isn't just a craft store. They have home decor and furnishing for yourself or for great gift-giving ideas. They offer holiday decorations and little things to complete a room. I've found adorable cabinet knobs (finished or unfinished), hooks (attached to cute plaques or alone), pictures to hang on a wall and picture frames (regular sizes as well as custom sizes) to set off your favorite photograph, painting or poster and a ton of little finishings you may never have realized you needed or wanted.
For example, I decorated my bathroom in a seashell/beach theme. A lot of the items I used were shells collected from the beach and things I made myself. However, during one of my visits, I happened to wander by some items that honestly jumped out and screamed, "We're just what you need to tie it all together!"
Some items are a little on the pricier side, but the great sales the have weekly more than make up for that.
I encourage everyone to at least check out Hobby Lobby one time. I would bet the farm on at least 75% will stop back and/or...
Read moreThe store is enormous and offers a plethora of items, all of which are of average to above-average quality. The retail prices of their wares are exceptional, with many items discounted by 30%, 40%, and even up to 50%. When we visited in August, they had autumn, Halloween, and even Christmas items in stock. The great breadth of their items is only surpassed by the vast quantities available, allowing you to buy as little as one item or in bulk if needed.
The store was clean and neat. As a disabled person in a power wheelchair, I appreciated the ample room to navigate the aisles and the accessibility of items stocked on the floor. I was also pleased to find that the restrooms were clean and spacious, making it easy for me to use the facilities.
The most noticeable and welcome aspect was the helpfulness and friendliness of all the associates I interacted with. It was evident that this was their natural demeanor and not something forced. The guests I brought with me were just as pleased and were in awe of the numerous crafting projects they could start or complete, as well as the home goods and decorator items they excitedly stocked their carts with. They couldn’t wait to go home to put these items out, complete their projects, or start...
Read moreA go-to for framing (as it is part of my job) and HL makes quick work of my orders every time.
If you're not a regular you probably won't realize that most sections go on "sale" every other week or every third week, so if you're not in a rush I always advise trying to wait for a sale.
Unfortunately it seems like the people who own HL are slowly transitioning to a new method of pricing and many items are slowly becoming "your price" items which means they won't go on sale unless they get clearanced out. I have a feeling a lot of customers are going to be unhappy about this.... including myself.
Still, HL has way more merchandise than other craft stores and at better prices and quality. They do a decent job at hopping on decor trends (despite their terrible AI-paintings sometimes) and they are always ahead of schedule for seasonal items (TOO ahead of schedule to be honest).
Either way, it's still my go-to for all things decor, craft,...
