Genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life. My mother found some piece of long, thin rubber in her pizza, looked like a rubber band, and notified the waitress. The waitress, who was kind and cordial throughout the experience, brought it to a cook. The cook walks out to the wrong table to accost a different group of customers about this rubber, until he was notified by the waitress that he was at the wrong table. After blaming the mistake on the waitress, he lumbered over our table to say that this rubber wasn’t in the pizza. I was immediately shocked by how aggressive he was. He acted like he was trying to get into a heated argument right off the bat, when we only wanted to say “hey maybe there’s something going wrong back there if this is coming out of your pizza.” He repeatedly told us the rubber was not in the pizza, claiming that we were lying and it could not possibly have come from them. Afterwards he literally shooed us out the door like we were dogs, telling us we had to leave right away or he would call the cops. Nothing had escalated at all until that point, but he was so so concerned with being correct that he wanted to kick us out for it.
I am not sure if this guy’s wife just died or something happened that made him have the worst day of his life, but I have never seen a human act to other humans that way. He was incredibly dismissive, rude, and aggressive and has no place working around other people let alone in a capacity interacting with customers. For the longevity of this establishment, I would highly recommend finding another employee. I believe the waitress said his name was Dan. He was short, older and balding. I can come back again and ask the waitress his name to be sure if it helps towards his removal.
The food, service, and atmosphere was great, but it is not worth eating at a place that has foreign objects in their food and threatens you when they are called out. Save yourself some trouble and go...
Read moreJust discovered Italian Village Pizza this week and honestly can't believe I hadn't tried it sooner. From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like family – attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake.
The food? Absolutely incredible. Portions are generous (we ended up taking some home), and everything tasted authentically Italian. I was shocked to find they serve arancini! Those little rice balls took me right back to my trip to Sicily last year. Their pizza crust has that perfect balance of crisp and chew that's so hard to find.
What really sets this place apart is that they're not just a pizza joint – they have a full bar (great wine selection!) and an impressive lineup of traditional Italian dishes. After dinner, we couldn't resist trying the desserts, which did not disappoint. The tiramisu was heavenly!
The dining area is comfortable and clean with a warm atmosphere that makes you want to linger over another glass of wine. Not too loud, not too quiet – just right for conversation.
If you're in Washington and craving Italian, skip the chains and head to Italian Village Pizza. Your taste buds will thank you. This place is definitely going into my regular...
Read moreThe new manager was rude and is a joke. However, the food is usually good. Tonight, I ordered a plain slice and 2 slices with toppings. After way too long of a wait, I asked the manager Amy what was going on. Amy got an attitude with me for just inquiring about the status and she said that someone else ordered the same thing so she gave it to them even though my order was first in line. I pointed that out to her and once again I was on the receiving end of rudeness and attitude. She said that one of my slices with toppings was ready and we are waiting on a new round pie to cook for the other two. I asked if I could get a fresh slice to replace the one that will be sitting there and Amy said, with attitude, "No, that is a waste of a pizza slice and toppings." Mind you, I had to wait because she gave my order to someone who came in after me. When I made the reasonable request for an itemized receipt, Amy, once again, got shitty with me. If you are unable to deal with people in a respectful manner, get out of the food service industry. We will now drive the extra distance to Italian Village in McMurray instead of...
