Alia’s makes a dish called Majudara which is made with lentils, rice, and onions. Onions are what make the dish and is a much needed item! As I was referred by my neighbor, I ordered Majudara for a party and loved it! I loved it so much, decided to order a portion for myself for dinner. Now, as I am a chef and make this dish all the time, it begins with onions! Didn’t feel like cooking, decided to order Majudara and kabob chicken. Asked for no onions and peppers for the kabobs (which I believe there was a miscommunication) cuz low and behold, I get home, and have no onions in the Majudara. Called the next morning to speak with Steve, and that’s when the customer service went down hill!! Steve stated the lady in the kitchen forgot the onions and can make me a side of onions to throw on top. Hmmm….I could’ve done that, but not what I paid for!! As I’m trying to state the fact I would like the dish made the correct way, Steve became rude by cutting me off not letting me speak. Steve tried telling me that no onions come in the dish but on top of the dish, (which isn’t true), and offered to make me a side of onions to throw on top. That was non satisfactory for me, and wanted the dish made over correctly or the return of my money. Steve wasn’t willing to make the dish over, and was not willing to refund my money. After Steve continued to be rude, I hung up in his face, called my bank detested the charges, and returned all food to Steve and Alia’s, and will never use their business again! I also, canceled both cards they had on file in case they tried to charge it again! I later discovered a voicemail message with Steve stating he would make it over if I brought back the original. By this time, I had already returned the food not knowing, and had already decided I never want anything else from this place if they can’t treat me any better than that! The 1 star is for the unprofessionalism of customer service received, and not being valued as such! Alia’s HAD a customer for life, along with referrals. However now, I will never shop there again! I wish you all the best Alia’s….not mad….a little disappointed however hope you learn better...
Read moreI had been utterly impressed with them until today. I work in a customer service related field and Steve the owner needs to learn how to deal with customers. I called to cancel my breakfast order for tomorrow and he started basically yelling at me as how I’m costing him money. I’m sick and can’t do a breakfast presentation tomorrow while I’m sick I’m sorry. I have ordered probably 20 times from them since January. Then today I change dates all the time and cx? I’ve only moved dates or cx when the doctors office I’m buying lunch for cx on me or had to reschedule. Then he proceeds to tell me he comes in sick and has to go into the hospital for 5 days. I feel for the guy but that’s not my problem. Obviously he’s has a lot going on and he took it on me. That’s just no way to do buisiness… He never listened, only accused and talked over me. Then he hung up on me. So I’m done… he’s worried about keeping the doors open but you just lost a customer who would’ve...
Read moreI use Alia's Catering quite often for catering business lunches and they are BY FAR the best caterer we've used. They have many buffet options to choose from. We love their Mediterranean buffet with the chicken and beef shawarma - it's a big hit at the office. And the seasoned pita chips - chefs kiss! They are very reasonably priced and can always accommodate. I even inquired about a last minute dinner for 40 for the next day and they jumped and said yes - even when I changed the number of people 3 times. Steve Farah is a dream to work with. I highly recommend for all...
