I had one of the most upsetting, disrespectful, and blatantly racist experiences Iāve ever encountered at this store ā specifically involving the security guard and the handling of a return.
I originally visited the store a day prior, where the employees at the register kindly informed me that for my return, a manager would be required, and that I could come back on Monday when one was available. I appreciated their guidance and came back the following Monday, well within the return timeframe.
However, things took a sharp turn. As soon as I explained the situation to the cashier, the manager began communicating indirectly through the security guard, stating they would not be processing my return ā without ever speaking to me directly. This was extremely confusing, as I was within the return threshold, confirmed by one of the storeās own associates .
When I asked for clarification, the security guard informed me that the manager was āon break for an hour.ā I let him know Iād wait outside and return. As I was leaving, I politely asked for the managerās name, and the security guard told me, āI canāt tell you.ā I then asked for his name, and again he said, āI canāt tell you.ā
I left the store feeling disrespected, profiled, and completely dismissed. The way I was treated ā denied transparency, access to leadership, and basic respect ā was deeply troubling. It was not just unprofessional, it felt personal and racially charged.
I fully understand that the store is moving locations soon, but let me be clear: this current management and security team should not be the ones leading or representing the new space. If anything, this experience proved that they are not equipped to run a productive, respectful, or consistent store. Leadership and security need to be retrained or replaced ā because no customer should be treated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to love shopping at Burlington in Spokane just a year ago, but my recent experience left me disappointed and frustrated. The store has gone downhill in various aspects, making it hard to enjoy shopping here anymore.
First and foremost, the lack of fitting rooms and bathrooms is a major inconvenience. It's nearly impossible to find the right size without trying on clothes, and the absence of restrooms only adds to the discomfort.
To make matters worse, when I grabbed a shopping cart, the alarms on the cart went off. I had to hunt someone down to turn off the alarm or else walk around the store with a loud shopping cart. This was not only embarrassing but also a waste of time.
The organization of the store is another issue. The racks are completely unorganized, making it difficult to find the size you want. This, combined with the lack of fitting rooms, makes shopping for clothes a frustrating experience.
While shopping, I also witnessed a man and a woman quickly push me out of the way and run out the door with arms full of merchandise and the alarms going off. This incident left me feeling uneasy and unsafe.
However, there are still some positives about this store. The prices are extremely great, and the staff is really friendly. These factors used to make Burlington in Spokane a favorite shopping destination of mine, but the complete unorganization and lack of amenities now outweigh these benefits.
In conclusion, I am disheartened by the decline of Burlington in Spokane. The store used to be a great place to shop, but the current state of disarray and lack of amenities make it hard to enjoy shopping here. I hope they can address these issues and restore the store to its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, this store is gross and I wasnāt planning on shopping here but I saw the previous post (5 days ago) with pics from āRubenā and the copy/paste response from āNufaā. How infuriating that a customer provides input and is so blatantly disrespected. After the same word-for-word āresponseā I wondered if that white chair was still there. It served as a metaphor to me for the whole operation. It obviously doesnāt belong there. Sure enough, that white chair has been sitting there in the aisle for 5 days and so I recreated a few of Rubenās pictures!! The place was still gross, it falls on how incompetent management must be. Imagine, when the general manager walking through the store. He doesnāt pick up things and straightening up racks and put things away. Iām just floored. He steps on hangers and continues on his way!!!! I took a pic of the baby cloths also. If you zoom in on the white chair, youāll see old sandals under it that the previous owner walked out with new shoes. You couldnāt tell though, thanks to the hundreds and hundreds of shoes on the floor. Same with the red flip flops. Insane! If I remember, Iāll check back in a couple days and update you. ššš
Your move Nufa, tell me how...
