One of the worst shopping experiences I've had. I wish this review could be brief, but unfortunately too many issues occurred.. I took my daughter here to do a little back to school shopping. Hoping the store wouldn't be as busy as the rest of the mall. Plus JcP has cheap deals.. Once there I noticed the salon had stylists standing around. I asked if they did walk ins, as my kid needed a trim. They agreed, and the stylist began trimming her hair. It was awkward as the stylist didn't say a word to us..So I gave her the details of the trim, then sat down in the waiting area. 30mins later I checked in and got the same unpleasant awkard stare & silence.. 50mins later she was done. Took longer then expected, but my daughter was happy with it. The stylist suddenly became very friendly and chipper when it came time to leave a tip. But not a big deal, as it turned out great. After that I found the prefect dish set I had been searching for! I grabbed the last 2 boxes and went to the register. Each 16piece box weighed a good 20lbs each. I asked the cashier if I could set them down & continue shopping. She rudely said "Only for 5 to 10mins tops!" I stood there preplexed.. and couldn't understand why only 10mins?.. Or how anyone could shop in that amount of time? I told her "That's not do-able, and guess JcP doesn't want customers to spend more money.." (Which if truly a store policy makes no sense). Never had that issues at other stores. She then began quickly ringing me up as I tried to find a coupon... I let her know I needed a sec to find one as she rolled her eyes and slammed the scanner down. I was caught off guard by her hostile attitude. She continued scoffing at me once the transaction was complete. We started grabbing the boxes to leave when the cashier started talking about me right in front of us to the other cashier next to her! I ignored it even though my 12yr old also heard it. There's no excuse for that. We continued carrying the boxes all the way to the parking lot, and came back inside to finish shopping š We found a few kid shirts and went to the register again. This time it was the other cashier that was next to the rude one. She began abruptly scrambling the tags around and scanned them. I had the coupon ready and rang up. The total came to $77! For a few kid tee's on sale with a coupon?? It didn't add up. She clearly didn't care as I had to take the hangers off and fold the items myself. I checked the receipt and noticed I was charged $54 for 1 kid tee!? I know I did not grab a top for that price. I once again had to go back into the store and check sales rack. The correct price was $25, before a coupon! I once again had to find another cashier to fix it. Luckily he was nice, and efficient. He double checked the pricing and refunded me the difference. Now we were finally able to leave the store. Once home I immediately unloaded the new dish set, and noticed one of the boxes was missing items! Missing 1 item from each set! I was shorted: 1bowl, 1cup, 1plate, & 1small plateš¤ I was beyond annoyed and frustrated at this point! They obviously used the items to display the dishes. Then re-taped the box and put it back on the shelf?? Customer service via chat was no help at all since it was a "in-store purchase". Now I can't even find the correct receipt for them since I was given 5 different receipts today. My only choice is to go back to the store and somehow explain the issue...I highly doubt it will go well since apparently ringing up a customer is such a difficult task. I get working retail is a pain I have done it myself, but this store is ridiculous. Save yourself...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I were to walk into a store, like JCPenney, and pick something off the shelf and walk out without giving the store money it would be considered stealing. So what is it called if a company takes a personās money with promise of a product, but that product was never delivered? Wouldnāt that be a form of stealing? In January I gave JCPenney money for them to give me a mattress, they took the money, but have NOT given me my mattress after 3 months. On January 4, 2017 I ordered a twin size mattress. After a few weeks, I get a call for delivery date. The day before delivery I call saying that they had the wrong size mattress, a queen. The person that I spoke with said that they would return the queen, order another twin and call back with a new delivery date. After two weeks, I had not heard anything so I called them. That is when I found out that nothing had been done. The queen was not returned nor was the twin re-ordered. While on the phone with me, the lady processed a return and re-ordered a twin size mattre¬¬ss. A few days later, I got a call to schedule delivery. I took off work to wait around for a mattress that never showed up. When I called to find out what happen I was told that āthe mattress did not make it on the truck and that the delivery would have to be rescheduledā As angry as I was, I just rescheduled the delivery. I get a call to reschedule, but the specific time did not work for me. When I told this to the person on the phone, I was told āThen you need to rescheduleā and hung up the phone on me without giving me a chance to figure something out. The mattress was then re-scheduled yet again. I get a call telling me the mattress would be delivered on March 18. March 18th came and went without a mattress. When I call to find out what happen, I was told that there was a mistake in the system. They canceled our March 18th date and rescheduled it for March 23th without contacting me, without asking if we were available. I get them to reschedule for March 25th and get a call saying that date wasnāt available that April 1st was the earliest date I could get. On March 31 I get a call saying my mattress would be delivered on April 1st between 8:30am-10:30am. At 10:30am I had not received a phone call, nor did I receive a mattress. I spent the next 3 hours talking to many different people, calling many different phone numbers to find out that, for the second time, my mattress ādid not make it on the delivery truckā. When I finally found out what happened I was sooo angry. After 3 months of waiting, after 3 months of reschedules and no shows and twice of āit didnāt make it on the truckā, I think I have been plenty patient, plenty polite and plenty accommodating. If I were to walk in to JCPenney and take a couple hundred dollars worth of product, I would be arrested. I would be sent to jail, have to pay fines, court fees and return everything I took. JCPenney took a couple hundred dollars from me and did not give me my product in return. What should...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife's wallet fell out of her purse while shopping. We contacted the manager and loss prevention and no one was willing to at least attempt to track it down. We believed we spotted who picked up the wallet and even knew the terminal number they used for their own transaction before storming out of the store after they realized we were behind them in line(at the time we did not realize it was gone yet). When my wife explained these details over the phone they seemed uninterested in helping, even if they cannot give us specifics, they should have at least let us know that it was in fact stolen. In the end our lost wallet is on us but it's very disappointing the loss prevention team was too incompetent to track it down. Since I can no longer feel safe in JCPenney stores I will be avoiding this store for now on and will be telling all my friends and family to do the same. This review is for the Spokane Northtown Mall JCPenny location.
Update: Just saw my review from a few years ago and decided to write an update.
The person that stole the wallet attempted to open 3 different credit cards at 3 different stores at the same mall within an hour. If loss prevention was competent, they may have been able to report it to the mall security team and located the thief and my wife's wallet. Still have not entered a...
