Incredibly unimpressed with this store. I worked for O'Reilly's for 4 years, 3 of which were in management. I've never had a problem using my employee discount at other stores (because sometimes you just don't feel like waiting 3 hours for a part to arrive at your home store), except for this one.
I waited in line like a normal customer, and when I asked the gentleman at the front desk for a TBI rebuild kit for an 88-94 K2500 with a 350, he told me they didn't carry them, without even looking it up in the computer. I suggested that they probably do, and to please check. I was not rude.
He tried looking it up; no dice. I get it, it's an uncommon item with weird nomenclature in their computers. I gave him a likely part number (BWD 10902) which he very reluctantly interchanged and found that - lo and behold - he did have one in stock.
Upon checking out, I asked if he could use my account number. He asked for an account name instead. I gave him an account name which he tried finding as a retail customer instead of employee, at which point I asked if he could enter my employee number as a commercial account number (which it is). He refused, so I gave him my ID which matched my account. After inspecting the ID as if it was fake, he sighed and entered it in. Ridiculous - I'm buying gaskets, not alcohol.
It was at this point that the manager (Macy) - having watched her employee, 1.) Deny carrying a part despite not attempting to find it, 2.) Fail to find the part given the correct part name and vehicle, 3.) Reluctantly and sarcastically look up the part number, as if it was a crazy request, and 4.) Tell a fellow employee that their account credentials weren't valid - decided to come out of hiding.
She demanded that I announce that I was employee of the store immediately upon my arrival (in what world does someone walk into a store and immediately proclaim to everyone there that they're an employee?), because of the guys' attitude at the counter. I explained that it shouldn't matter that I'm an employee; I should receive the same level of service regardless of my title or status within the company, whether I'm a higher-up or a counterperson... it shouldn't matter.
She proceeded to inform me that she was going to call my store and the district manager to inform them exactly what parts I got, and what their vehicle application was. When I got back to working at my store the general consensus was "Yeah she's just like that".
Get real, it's a retail job that pays 40k a year for 55+ hrs a week. Seriously never going back to this place,...
Read moreI like this place. Good employees are hard to find, especially the ones who actually care and are helpful in every which way they can. But! I wish they had a way to make automobile keys with or without chips and pair fobs to your vehicle for half the price of dealership's?? But I understand the liability and making sure that the vehicle they were rekeying was the people who actually came in to get the key made. That would actually be an headache and everything would have to be perfect as far as customers paperwork for vehicles and employees making sure that paperwork was legit. Maybe, have a state representative and teach a class to The employees and owners so they would know and log everything that goes on?? IDK... I just wish you guy's could, but I get it. But thanks for all you do guy's and gal's, Manager's, and owners!...
Read moreWe went to this location and asked if they were willing to put in a headlight for my sons car, and to replace the turn signal for our Ford pick up. I told them if they could not put in the part then I would go to a different parts store. The gentleman that helped us took that as a challenge. He looked up how to change the head light on a KIA no problem, when he did the Ford Ranger 2003 that was a whole different story, oh man were they awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He worked on the Ford for one half hour and would not leave until finished, then we found out it was another bulb that needed to be replaced HE DID THAT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, FOR ALL OF YOUR...
