Huge Jeers! Some background. My boyfriend’s business was embezzled from back in 2014, it ended up being Grand Theft. The couple who stole got away with 100 grand, but we were only able to prove 58 grand and the detective who was in charge of the case did not hand over 2 grand in money orders. Prosecuting Attorney Reese Sterett talked my boyfriend into not going to trial in order to save the county from a costly trial, for us to go to court WE had to provide enlarged 8x10 copies of the checks in question (our out of pocket expense), even though we had put all the checks onto a USB. During both trials it was stated that if both defendants involved did not make restitution payments it would be considered a violation of probation. Well the defendant who served 11 months of jail time out of 22 months did not try to make one payment, and she was released from probation. The defendants coconspirator only received a slap on the wrist and probation with the understanding that he too had to make restitution or it would be a probation violation. Now we (the victims, have to spend more of our money) in order to start garnishment process because the Courts, the Attorneys Office, the Department of Corrections, the Detective, and our entire Judicial system let us down.
Slap in the face: When our victim statements were read in court no one paid attention to them, they were too busy conversing, writing, the judge was busy with her court secretary. Slap in the face: The court system kept pushing the court dates back, finally we went to one of the pretrial, the lawyer nor the defendant were even present during the pretrial, and of course another push back on the case. Slap in the face: When the defendant finally was sentenced, she was allowed two more weeks of freedom to get her affairs in order. She had three years to do this, and they allowed two more weeks. She knew months prior to any court date that she was being sentenced, but NO two more weeks to get her affairs in order.
My final thought is making them take your case to jury trial. You might get better results than what we did, once everything is ended your left high and dry by all who participate to spend more money that you can’t afford to spare.

Read moreShould the Democratic and Republican Party care more about our communities' plight? We demand due process for EVERYONE. Please look into this matter. Together, we can make sure the truth is known.
We also want the world to know about Mary Ezenwa's case because of the gross violation of her due process. Mary, a 4.00 GPA Columbia University-Ivy League Educated Alumni have been falsely accused of crimes in Washington State, but that does not mean that constitutional protections did not apply to her. Advocating for an IMPEACHMENT of Chief Justice Steven González for Abuse of Power.
Independent Investigation needed into the corruption present in the Washington State's justice system. The justice system in Washington State are skewed against people of color (likely target the most vulnerable of a community) and lower socioeconomic status, as evidenced by many people's constitutional protections of due process being grossly violated in Washington State.
Given the cited attacks on marginalized communities, we will not stop sharing Mary's story with the world. We will not stop advocating for justice for EVERYONE until there is a fair hearing for everyone that experienced systemic due process violation, and a proposed amendment that advance equal rights protections to every resident in the...
Read moreDisturbingly rude judicial assistant on the unlawful detainer docket these days. The judge is what you’d expect, but the judicial assistant is surprisingly over-the-top rude and condescending. I was really taken aback by just how entirely unpleasant she really is. She either must really dislike her job or is just a narcissist on a power trip. For someone that is in an important position as a public servant for the people of the city of Spokane, I’d expect someone with some better soft skills and tact. The previous judicial assistants on the docket have always been very affable, accommodating, and concerned about the well-being of all stakeholders… this one really requires some retraining. Really I’m hoping that rotation comes around soon not because of the judge but so that people do not have to deal with this lady going forward. Multiple times during the day I was sitting by people and we’d see her interacting with tenants, landlords, and attorneys alike with really a disgusting lack of decorum and wondering what is her problem? We can and should...
