9.29.25: We live over an hour away but had to come to this part of town to run an errand and I wanted to check this place out since it was nearby. When we walked in you immediately got that cool divey feel and I loved their old school music choice. I didn't catch our servers name but she was super sweet and friendly. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of tomato basil and my friend got the meatball sub. My grilled cheese was so cheesy and the bread was perfectly toasted. The tomato basil soup was hot, creamy, and had a good season besides the tomatoes themselves. My friend said he enjoyed his meatball sub and that it had a great flavor and that the bread was awesome. He just wished it was a tad bit hotter, temperature-wise. Overall, it was an enjoyable first visit and we'll be back again. My friend really wants to try the Chop Cheese next time. It's worth noting they have daily specials and a happy hour from 3-6pm daily with Thursdays being all day.

I've been excited to try this place out, as there's nothing I love more than a good sandwich, and chowderhead certainly did not disappoint! We came in at lunchtime on a Saturday and stepped into a lively restaurant with a very friendly, welcoming vibe. There were a couple of large groups and people coming and going to pick up takeout orders as well. It's great to see the community support a new restaurant, and it's certainly no question as to why chowderhead is getting that support. The food is absolutely fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Definitely an excellent addition to the food scene in Spokane. I had the chop cheese sandwich with a bowl of smoked steelhead salmon chowder and both exceeded my already high expectations. I am already planning on coming back as soon as I can to try the meatball and burrata sandwich, and pretty much everything else!

I felt very compelled to write this review, as I had a plethora of experiences in the one hour I was at Chowderhead…. My Mom had just flew into town, and I wanted to take her somewhere cool for her birthday, We looked at several places in Spokane and I was stoked to see that Chowderhead was open on Sundays, as I had heard AMAZING things about it! I talked it up the whole way there And instantly loved the vibe as we walked into the building. Then we were approached by the server.. I’m not going to dwell on the first 15 minutes of the experience as it was remedied so quickly and I was so impressed by the “course correction” that I don’t want to throw too much shade, I will just say I was really looking forward to going here, and was immediately SO bummed-out at the server that initially helped us and his lack of kindness and service… however, as being local business owner myself. ..I know that even the best owners, cannot have complete control over staff, when they are working their butts off themselves (and I saw that owner hard at work in the back!) and I would be so upset if someone had walked into my business and not tried to at least approach me or a manager, if someone had let them down or did something to ruin their experience ….so I sought out somebody that seemed to really be running the show and she helped me immediately! To say Katie went above and beyond and turned the entire experience around for us was an understatement. Not only did she fix the issues, she took care of us the rest of the time, compensated for the initial server (I would give him a 1/5 just for showing up to work and her a 20/5 … thus the 5/5 rating ;) lol) then she bent over backwards to take a minute away from her very busy bar to come and talk to myself and my family… and the food was OFF👏🏻 THE 👏🏻HOOK, 10 outta 10!!! I’m really looking forward to visiting Chowderhead again☺️. Thanks for bringin this delicious place...

I just had lunch here and had one of the worst service experiences I've had. We arrived at 12:20 for lunch and ordered. We sat and sat and watched everyone that came in after us receive their food and finally asked the waitress what was happening at about 1:10 as I had an appointment at 2 and needed to leave. She said she made a mistake and the order wasn't turned in. I'm OK with people making mistakes as it happens but what happened after was not ok. She continued to bring other people's food out for another 15 min and I finally got up and said we're going to need to leave as I have an appointment. She said "here's your food" as it was out ready to be served. We ate speedily and left. What I don't appreciate is as she served it she was making excuses of "well the breadbowls (the soup was in) take longer" (even though half of what she was serving other people were breadbowls). She also spoke tersely and didn't offer anything (like to take the bill right away or any discount). I had to get up and wait in line to pay the bill and rush out. The food was excellent but I'm not waiting an hour for lunch and having service that is...

Not at all worth what I spent. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak based on reviews and it was weak! The meat was far overcooked and there really wasn’t much of it… there was one literal bell pepper in it as well- Also ordered a meatball sub. I will say that was large (as I would expect for $22 freakin bucks) Based on photos of their menu online however, I assumed each sandwich would be $17-$19 at Most!! But it was $23 for the Philly plus extra for the soup, even though a side was said to be included— I ordered over the phone and was asked what side I would like, she listed options so I chose clam chowder for each but she didn’t mention that it would cost extra… and I didn’t get fries or anything else. So for a small cup of soup and a pretty basic Philly cheesesteak it was $28 (give or take some cents…) It was not worth it. Soup was good but sandwich was weak- I paid for it hoping it would be amazing, sadly it wasn’t . On top of that finding parking was just frustrating ! Has to circle the place multiple times and I paid $3 in parking just to grab the food via takeout.. I’m quite disappointed, I...
