I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS PARK GOT THROUGH PLANNING PERMISSION WITHOUT BEING ADA COMPLIANT!!! Before the renovation this area was fairly wheelchair accessible. You could get a wheelchair down easily and get to the different levels via well-worn dirt trails. It was an ugly space but accessible. Now it's beautiful but they took away the trails and covered them with grass. They turned the little hill we had to go down from the street into steps. Now there's a long steep gravel access road. Yesterday, I helped my daughter go down and up that road because it's steep enough that, without guidance, a 200 pound electric chair starts to slide sideways. Read moreWe parked at the Convention Center, next to the Doubletree Hotel, and walked to this park. The walk is easy but there are probably 50 stairs down to the park and the falls. It is an effort to walk back up the stairs. Beautiful views of the river and the falls. This Park gets you so close to the lower Spokane Waterfalls. I could almost touch the water! We got sprayed! I loved the whole view. I could see the two bridges and the upper waterfalls in the distance. The Cheif Sculpture is fantastic up close. The sound was so loud....
