The Clay Connection — Local services in Spokane

So before yesterday I would completely agree with everyone on the 3 stars or even less up until July 1st if last year when The Clay Connection was sold to new owners. The first time I visited The Clay Connection back in 2013, I was taken advantage of and the owner at the time was all about getting as much money out of you and belittling you when you asked questions. I purchased hundreds of dollars and didn't know what to do and was so turned off by my experience, that I never pursued pottery.

Yesterday, 6 years later, the new Owner Linnell spent over an hour going over clays, tools, and firing with me. My experience was amazing and Linnell was so acknowledgeable. She also took the time to setup.a business account with me, as I've dived into making creations for my business. I can't wait to go back and will be referring...

I called looking for castable refractory cement. Kyle said they had it so I went in and bought it. After mixing the bag I discover that it isn't cement at all, it is fire clay. I call back and kyle tells me it isn't fire clayit is cement. I told him the bottom of the bag is labled "DMFC" which I now know means "dry mill fire clay". Once Kyle realizes we both know he doesn't know what he is talking about he gets belligerent and says he will give my number to the owner and she will call me back and proceeds to hang up the phone, before getting my number. I had to call back to give it to them. They can't tell me when the owner will be in. Today? This week? Ever? My husband and I just took part one of a two day class here today. It was soooo much fun. We both had never done pottery and we were nervous but our pottery turned out amazing!!!

The instructor was not only amazing, he was so nice and welcoming. He knew when to be hands off and when to step in and help when I started to get a little frustrated hahaha. He taught us not to just make the bowls, but taught us the techniques!! So we can be pros in no time.

Next week we go back to do the finishing touches on our work. We each got two make two different pieces. It was a great deal and great fun and can not wait to go...
