I would like to preface by saying we did not get the opportunity to have any of the food or tea. I’m hoping our experience was a random occurrence, especially with the thousands of 5 star reviews. This was a Christmas present from my husband and we were so excited to try.

First impressions: the place is an adorable cottage style home. I was concerned about the safety as walls were literally bulging out. We were placed in a corner area, there were food and dishes from a previous guest at the table next to us. We had water at our table but no glasses. 1st host was friendly, but did not give us any information about the place, just let us know how to look at tea options.

Another host (also friendly) took our tea choices about 10 minutes upon arriving.

We waited for 31 minutes before deciding to leave. We had not received tea or glasses for water, or the food. We walked up to let the host know. Someone we hadn’t spoke with yet came up, I’m not sure if she was an owner or manager. We let her know we had been waiting for 31 minutes and she said “it takes a half an hour to get food” I said I wished someone would have let us know so we had expectations. I also said we never received water glasses. And then I said we would like to leave. She asked if we would like our order to go. I said again I would like to leave. She said “ do you have somewhere to be?” I said no but I would like to go and not be charged. She said “that’s fine, just go”.

I am sorry if they were having a bad day, I understand those days can happen. I am disappointed this was taken out on us. I was really looking forward to this experience.

If we would have received water glasses and maybe got some tea before the food we would have been very happy and stayed. If we would have been asked if we had been there before, and had them tell us what to expect, we would have been golden. Also instead of saying things like “do you have some place to be” maybe she could have said something like “I am so sorry we did not make our expectations clear upon your arrival. Your tea is almost ready if you would like to stay” maybe we would have given...

I was a bit apprehensive about going to a British/English tea house. I've only ever been to kissaten and chinese tea houses. The house itself is so stunning, it reminded me of my old work(historic plaster mason); they even kept the historical accuracy of painting the floors as opposed to staining them. The teas were very interesting, I got the ginger peach which was lovely for my tastes and the Jaipur which really didn't hit the right notes for my tastes. The three floral components were a bit too unharmonious in my opinion. The cakes and things were very good. I liked just about everything I ate with exception to the chocolate cake. It was perhaps too sweet for me? It was very interesting to get to try edible gold. Since I went for my birthday, I was very happy that they were so kind to light a little candle in the cake and did NOT sing to me. VERY thoughtful to an introvert! When we went to pay for the time, the attendant gave me the parting gift of some loose tea. I will 100% come back here and keep coming back, if for no other reason than to...

update Since first going I have become vegan. Brambleberry continues to be amazing and offer vegan accommodations without skimping on quality, flavor, or experience. They really are the best ever.

I love Brambleberry Cottage and recommend that everyone come here. It's an adorable house that is beautifully decorated throughout with many items for sale. I ended up getting some tea cups as gifts for my grandma. My friends and I made reservations for High Tea and we had a delightful time! The selection of sandwiches and sweets was wonderful. We were completely stuffed by the time we left which I honestly wasn't expecting. The tea selection was vast and the service was attentive but not overbearing. I personally tried 4 different teas but I also made my friends share so it was more like 7. My favorite ended up being the Princess Grey which is a delightful blend of black tea, bergamot, lavender, and rose. I even got a few ounces to brew at home. They surpassed our expectations and I would definitely recommend...

Brambleberry Cottage is a hidden Spokane gem that is completely deserving of its "Top 25 US tea rooms" status. We sampled several selections of tea from quite a comprehensive menu and were delighted by every one. The three-tiered food service came with an eclectic assortment of authentic British tea time favorites including finger sandwiches, crumpets, and scones complete with jam and Devonshire cream. Sydney and Dawn were gracious hosts and provided excellent service. The atmosphere was relaxed and added a serene period of respite to our busy and chaotic day. I am happy to have discovered this local slice of heaven and look forward to making it a regular destination with friends and out of town visitors alike.
