This restaurant deserves every word of criticism for its appalling behavior tonight. Watching the bartender publicly humiliate a married couple—who were simply out to celebrate a birthday, a 50th birthday, at that—was nothing short of disgraceful. He insisted on cutting them off for the absurd reason that one of them “used the restroom too much,” which, frankly, sounds more like a bad joke than a policy. Let’s be clear: this couple did nothing more than enjoy cocktails, appetizers, and entrees, which naturally might involve a couple of trips to the restroom over the course of an evening. Yet the bartender singled them out and ruined what should have been a joyful occasion for reasons that are, at best, baffling, and at worst, tinged with bigotry—especially considering they were a female couple. It’s impossible to ignore the sense of prejudice, whether intentional or not, that tainted the entire incident. The spectacle left every decent person in the room shocked and uncomfortable. For anyone considering dining here: don’t. No one deserves to spend their money at a place with such a gross display of judgment and a hateful spirit. Shame on this establishment for allowing such behavior—rest assured we will never return after witnessing it. For what it’s worth, I was able to catch the couple as they left and offer them a glimmer of dignity and decency they were denied inside. They deserve the birthday dinner they tried to have, and someone should see to it they get it—somewhere decent, not here. Note: The referenced behavior was verified by firsthand observation, and any future response is warranted only by concrete change and accountability from management.

This is a spot I've never even considered because the term "public house" has typically meant that the food & drink is out of my price range or too sophisticated for my delicate palate. Someone else chose this place for a co-worker's going away dinner so I was obliged to attend. Not sorry that I did. The place itself is very nice inside. Overall very quiet for a place its size. The menu offered a decent variety of entrees and appetizers but not too many to be overwhelming. In retrospect, I'm regretting not ordering the pretzel and beer cheese as someone else did at our did--that looked delicious. As for the food we DID order, I'd definitely order again. I had the Mac & cheese with pulled pork the at was a big bowl of cheesy noodles with some nicely cooked and well flavored pork. My wife ordered the grilled meatloaf which was a couple of big slabs of meat presently very nicely with mashed potatoes & gravy. She said the only thing she'd have liked to see is maybe a green veg. Since this was a weeknight, servers were sparse but ours was attentive enough, especially since we were there longer than a typical group would be.

So pleasantly surprised w this spot! Welcoming space, and our server was so freaking nice (!). We ended up splitting dinner bc the portions are huge. Added Mac n cheese and pretzels for the appetizer. All came out at same time is my only negative point. An appetizer should come out first. That aside, holy cow on this dish! The pretzels we're hot and salty, and the cheese sauce perfection. The mustard sauce has a lot of horseradish... Delicious but be warned! Your sinuses will know it! Meatloaf was light and yummy w a sage emphasis. I'm not a huge gravy fan but this gravy changed my mind. It pairs perfectly with the meatloaf. Mashed potatoes w skin on we're standard. We ordered a side of Mac n cheese and ith changed our life. Holy cow(!) this is delicious!! Do I need to repeat?!? Delicious!! A five blend of cheeses: brie, cheddar, American, jack, and I forgot the last one. Lol. Trust me. I hate Mac n cheese but loved theirs. Definitely coming back!!

Absolutely Appalling Experience at Serenac My recent visit to Serenac was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, things went downhill. We were told to seat ourselves anywhere, only to be told "not that table, it's reserved" after we sat down—despite there being no indication or sign of any reservation on the table. The service was practically nonexistent. We were immediately presented with dirty silverware, a disgusting start to any meal. Our sodas and teas took an eternity to arrive, and that was just the beginning of the wait. We then proceeded to wait a shocking 55 minutes for our food to finally come out. To make matters worse, we noticed multiple other customers came and went in the time we were still waiting for our order. Our server only bothered to check on us a grand total of two times during this entire ordeal. We even had to refill our own waters multiple times just to stay hydrated. The neglect continued even after the food (finally) arrived. When we were ready to leave, we had to get our own to-go boxes and even go to the bar to request our check. There was no apology for the excessive wait or the dismal service, making it clear they had no regard for our time or experience. The entire "meal" ended up taking an agonizing hour and a half. Honestly, we seriously considered cutting our losses and walking out to go to Chili's down the street. I'm convinced we could have been seated, ordered, and eaten an entire meal there faster than the agonizingly slow and frustrating experience we had at Serenac. Save yourself the headache and...

We went here for the first time for a friend's party and we were told that they weren't able to rearrange the tables so we could sit together. It was a pretty simple fix but they separated us anyway. They also have 3 different entry points and just told us to go stand by the door while they cleaned a table for us but didn't say where to go and just walked away. Also our drinks would be completely out for a while before we could get a refill they wouldn't even refill unless you asked which was a bit odd. No photos because it was my friend's birthday so was focused on them! However my husband feels the Saranac burger was the best smokey flavored burger he's had up here in Spokane. It was very flavorful and very smokey the bacon was crisp and firm which was really good I hate soggy bacon. The fries were very fried and over salted my mouth got so dry because of the drink situation and the salt. I don't add salt to my food and I have to cook everything from scratch so it was a bit much for me. The total was $65 for two people with a tip. We had the same meal saeanac burger and fries and one soda and one unsweetened tea. As well as the chips and salsa. The salsa was really good wish more came with the chips as they served a bunch of chips with a small dip bowl of salsa. If we go here again I'll make sure to...
