I have driven by this place a bajillion times on the freeway for years, but it never seemed convenient to try until recently.

This place was probably very nice once, but the decor and upholstery don't look like they have been updated since the late 80s.

When I walked in I was told to sit wherever I liked. All good, but the staff was having a little gossip session and it took probably 10 minutes or more before the waitress took the ten steps to ask if I wanted coffee and to bring me a menu. On the plus side, she brought me my own coffee carafe so I didn't have to worry about drive by refills ruining my coffee/creamer/sugar ratio.

But then it took another 10 minutes for her to come take my order. I want to note it was very much not busy. I had given the international signal for being ready to order by putting my menu down on the table away from me, but it still took a while.

When I got my food, my waffle was near perfect outside, but most definitely NOT done in the inside. Either their waffle maker is busted or the temp is set wrong, but I only had a few bites and then gave up out of fear of being ill.

While my waitress was friendly enough, I only saw her one other time to check how everything was. She was mostly chatting with the rather cranky sounding cook.

Well, at least now I can say I have been here and don't need to worry about...

I took my escort Stacey Miotke to eat some breakfast and let her know I was aware she was a sex worker and no longer wanted to be in a relationship with her because she lied about it and so much more than just that. But the way the waitress was comforting to both of us in this uncomfortable and awkward conversation between the two of us in their restaurant; that and she gave us plenty of time in between our arrival and ordering and so on.

The food is really really good for a diner that is right off the freeway in downtown Spokane WA, I either get a bacon&spinach omelette -onions or something from the batter box area in their menu and get it made with chocolate chips mixed up into it. Although the panwich comes in separate parts for you to put together after it's served, so you get 2pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon or 2 patties of sausage to put in between the pancakes yourself. Even though you ordered it as the panwich and it is charged extra cost than just ordering pancakes and eggs& bacon or sausage for some reason?

Also they have the BEST cinnamon rolls in all of the PNW and probably beyond. I highly recommend you order it for breakfast, lunch or just if you're hungry but not in the mood for a whole meal. In fact I'ma go get me one after I finish writing this up.

Enjoy...

My fiance and I and our daughter went here for breakfast on Friday 4-21. By the end of the day I had food poisoning, and have been sick every day (today is Tue 4/25). This was due to my over easy eggs being way under done, I got distracted with getting our daughter's breakfast ready, plus the waitress not coming back didn't help, so I forgot to send them back and ate them. The waitress was awful in my opinion and got annoyed with me coming up to counter to ask for the rest of our breakfast, while I watched her deliver food to others first!!! We will never be returning to this restaurant. And whatever you do get your eggs over medium or more and do not get the corned beef and hash, it was not good as well as they bring you the corned beef and some shredded browns and then you get to make your own breakfast, instead of them...

Oh boy. This was one of the worst lunches I've had in a long, long time. I've had the Mexican Dinner dish, beef and cheese tacos topped with olive slices served alongside salsa, sour cream and mini croquettes. The salsa and sour cream were okay. The rest was enormous amounts of cheap old fat and carbs and salt trying to cover low quality ingredients and an unimaginative recipe. Look, I get it. It's an American roadside diner in a midsize town. But I've had better lunch at McDonald's. The only good thing was the service, the ladies were courteous and friendly. I don't know why this place got top ratings by so many people. Perhaps their breakfast dishes are better? Improbable to me. I would suggest taking the time to get closer to downtown Spokane and eating at one of the modern cafés there.

Something about brown-glazed ceramic coffee mugs and amber-toned plastic cups in an old-fashioned diner that screams comfort and nostalgia. The menu is vast. The food was cooked, perfect to my order-- Hashbrowns extra crispy, please! Nailed it. I ordered the Spinach Bacon Omelette, add mushrooms. The hollandaise that topped the omelet was set well, no breaks in the sauce, perfectly palatable. It's great that they offer many bread options. I chose a bagel with cream cheese, but they also offered toast, biscuit, English muffins, and other sweet muffin choices. This is not my first visit to Frankie Doodle's, so I feel confident to attest to their consistently great food, service, and nostalgic atmosphere. Long live the classic diner!
