I have driven by this place a bajillion times on the freeway for years, but it never seemed convenient to try until recently.
This place was probably very nice once, but the decor and upholstery don't look like they have been updated since the late 80s.
When I walked in I was told to sit wherever I liked. All good, but the staff was having a little gossip session and it took probably 10 minutes or more before the waitress took the ten steps to ask if I wanted coffee and to bring me a menu. On the plus side, she brought me my own coffee carafe so I didn't have to worry about drive by refills ruining my coffee/creamer/sugar ratio.
But then it took another 10 minutes for her to come take my order. I want to note it was very much not busy. I had given the international signal for being ready to order by putting my menu down on the table away from me, but it still took a while.
When I got my food, my waffle was near perfect outside, but most definitely NOT done in the inside. Either their waffle maker is busted or the temp is set wrong, but I only had a few bites and then gave up out of fear of being ill.
While my waitress was friendly enough, I only saw her one other time to check how everything was. She was mostly chatting with the rather cranky sounding cook.
Well, at least now I can say I have been here and don't need to worry about...
Read moreI took my escort Stacey Miotke to eat some breakfast and let her know I was aware she was a sex worker and no longer wanted to be in a relationship with her because she lied about it and so much more than just that. But the way the waitress was comforting to both of us in this uncomfortable and awkward conversation between the two of us in their restaurant; that and she gave us plenty of time in between our arrival and ordering and so on.
The food is really really good for a diner that is right off the freeway in downtown Spokane WA, I either get a bacon&spinach omelette -onions or something from the batter box area in their menu and get it made with chocolate chips mixed up into it. Although the panwich comes in separate parts for you to put together after it's served, so you get 2pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon or 2 patties of sausage to put in between the pancakes yourself. Even though you ordered it as the panwich and it is charged extra cost than just ordering pancakes and eggs& bacon or sausage for some reason?
Also they have the BEST cinnamon rolls in all of the PNW and probably beyond. I highly recommend you order it for breakfast, lunch or just if you're hungry but not in the mood for a whole meal. In fact I'ma go get me one after I finish writing this up.
Enjoy...
Read moreMy fiance and I and our daughter went here for breakfast on Friday 4-21. By the end of the day I had food poisoning, and have been sick every day (today is Tue 4/25). This was due to my over easy eggs being way under done, I got distracted with getting our daughter's breakfast ready, plus the waitress not coming back didn't help, so I forgot to send them back and ate them. The waitress was awful in my opinion and got annoyed with me coming up to counter to ask for the rest of our breakfast, while I watched her deliver food to others first!!! We will never be returning to this restaurant. And whatever you do get your eggs over medium or more and do not get the corned beef and hash, it was not good as well as they bring you the corned beef and some shredded browns and then you get to make your own breakfast, instead of them...
