Osaka Japanese Express — Restaurant in Spring Lake

Stopped in and ordered the shrimp , chicken and steak teriyaki plate with the soup and I ordered spring rolls. I asked for the meat to be medium rare I had to drive between 20 minutes to my house got home and my food was like rubber. It wasn’t fresh. Luckily, the lady who took my order, remembered me and she was so kind so I had to drive all the way back up there to get fresh food., I didn’t check I didn’t check the soup before I went back to take my order back so when I got back home, it was hideous. I don’t know what kind of miso that was, but I didn’t even try it. I just threw it away, it looked hideous! . The spring rolls were undercooked I threw them away. I should’ve checked them before I left to go back to the restaurant. I should’ve took the whole entire order, but I took my plate back. I actually got home put the food on my plate. I just took down my whole plate with me. They went in and supposedly cook fresh food or try , I tried a piece before I left. It seemed OK but when I got home and opened it up, it was absolutely horrible,, it . Made me feel bad for the lady that works there because she was so nice and apologetic but the chef he just stood there and there was somebody else back there cooking and he was watching him Suggest don’t go here to get your food, Unless you’d like food that has sat in the warmer and just been heated it up and then put in water down sauce . I’m pretty pissed off because I’ve been on the road today and I just wanted to get food and go home so that was $25...

Ordered the chicken fried rice and while the portion size for it was fine, the rice was flavorless but it did not make me sick which is the only plus that comes to mind. The place also had a really strange smell inside. The cashier was nice though, about what I would expect, and the food only took about 5-10 minutes to be ready.

Overall, there are better options that offer more for the same price or sometimes even lower if they do a lunch special. I would only go here if I was absolutely starving and I just left the Walmart that's located right in front.

(P.S. there is Chinese food location 'Peking Wok' that is also right next to the Walmart that seems a lot more promising and there is a GameStop you can browse through as you wait for your food...

I visited Osaka Japanese Express today in Spring Lake, NC. The food I ordered was good, steak and shrimp hibachi, white rice, veggies and salad. I’m writing this review because I believe the clerk at the front of this restaurant is doing a disservice to a/this “Japanese” restaurant. I asked this lady as she was taking my order if they have sweet carrots and she replied “everyone keeps asking me that, I don’t know if they are sweet or not.” I said “well you know what I’m talking about right, sweet carrots from a Japanese restaurant, she replied “no, I’ve never ate at one”. So I guess she hasn’t ate at her own job. I said, never mind. She tried to ask the cook but he didn’t seem to understand her. I’ll look for food...
