I stopped at this store to get some new shoes while on my way home from visiting my dad at Reading Rehab which is just across the street. When I walked in the store, there was a girl standing inside who asked me if she could help me find anything. I told her I was interested in some new shoes, and she quickly pointed me to the back of the store where they were located. After that encounter I hadn't seen another employee for a good 10-15 minutes. There were at least 15 people around the shoe area who were waiting for assistance, and no associates to be found. Finally someone emerged from the back room who had apparently been searching for a certain size for another customer. (Please keep in mind that this was on a Friday at about 7 PM) After standing there like a dope for a few minutes, I decided to attempt to find shoes for myself. They had a wall with scores of shoes on display, but only about 6 small shelves with any merchandise. I attempted to find the UnderArmour shoes that I was looking for, but it was a no go. They didn't have anything above a 13 on the sales floor. I had imagined that if this was an athletic, and a good portion of athletes are above average height, and people who are above average height tend to have larger feet, they would have a larger selection for people with big feet, such as myself. Still, after searching, not I, nor did anyone else in the shoe department for that matter, receive much assistance. Now, I work retail. So I understand this experience is in no way their fault, but I will not shop there again. (Not for shoes anyway) You would think that with school quickly approaching, and in turn school sports quickly approaching, this store would have more associates available to help customers. Anyway, after waiting and wandering and waiting and wandering, I decided to meander a few stores down to Famous Footwear. I was greeted with a smile, and was helped within minutes on my quest for apparel for my freakishly large feet. I was so happy with the service that I bought two pairs. I HIGHLY recommend shopping at Famous Footwear over Dick's Sporting Goods for shoes. Great service, great prices, and it's only about...
Read moreExtremely stingy - will find any way to deny an online price match to their own website. Don't expect to get any kind of sale that is presented on their website as it will always be null and void in the brick and mortar store by some specific such as, that's only the price if you buy online and have it shipped we can't honor that in store, or, that is the price listed on the website but it's only for the new arrival colors none of the other identical products on the shelf. You're better off ordering online, paying shipping and waiting for it to arrive. Though they can't take 10 dollars off of an 80 dollar item, they will make sure to push for you to sign up for their reward program where if you only spend a miniscule 300 dollars, you can earn a whopping 10 dollars back!! A complete joke. Otherwise than that, the employee's are helpful and pleasant and the store seems to be full of them ready to assist with finding items or any other questions you may have. Overall a nice store that is...
Read moreCan't attest to the hunting/fishing area, but overall okay service here. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Keep in mind it's a base level customer service job that is usually filled by teenagers who might not know everything about the products, can be new to customer service, or in some cases just don't really care and there's a high rate of turnover just like any other retail job. They have a decent shoe selection for women and I usually get my Brooks here. Sometimes you walk in and someone helps you right away, other times they are missing or don't approach you to offer help. I've never had a rude employee run in, though, just not knowledgeable sometimes. I had trouble finding some hand weights I saw online and basically just got a shrug from the employee helping me. I didn't want them that badly anyway so I just...
